Just curious as to where everyone honestly thinks Tenn should finish the season on a consistent basis.

For starters, win the SECe every 4 years at a minimum. Break Bama losing streak. Never lose to Vandy.

I think it is about competition. We should be in a position to win the SEC East every year and win the SEC from time to time. Now I know that's unrealistic to be in a position every year to win the East, but I think we should always be competing with Georgia and Florida. I do not think we should be swept by them or ever at the bottom of the East. We need to be controlling our own destiny at season's end, not counting on other teams to achieve our goals for us.

We should be more competitive with the West, our current trend has pretty much resulted in a L every time we line up against a West opponent. Also, we need to be more competitive against top 25 teams. We have a horrible record against them as well lately. No more getting blown out. We should be competitive in every game we play.

The program should always finish the season in the top 25. We really should not lose more than 3 games a year. I know an 8-5/9-4 season may occur, but it should be the outlier not the norm. There may also be an upset thrown in occasionally, but never losses to inferior opponents multiple times in a season. We need to start winning the games we are supposed to win, and even winning some that we are not, and quit losing games we are supposed to win. When Tennessee beats a high quality, top 25 opponent it should not be seen as an upset, we should be a high quality, top 25 team too. We should be striving to have 10 wins every season.

There used to be a swagger and attitude to this Tennessee program, we were respected and feared. People did not want to line up against us. We were one of the best teams in the country. We have got to get that mentality back at Tennessee.

Back in the day: win 10+ games, win the SEC at least every other year, and finish with a top 10 recruiting class

Now: win 8 games, don't worry about winning the East because 6 wins gets you a bowl game anyway, beat Vandy, hopefully finish with top 20 recruiting class

Literally no reasonable fans have said either of those lists. Try again.

Would want UT to have east championships a majority of every decade. Should win the sec no worse than once every 4 years. Bama and all other sec rivals in the east should not have long streaks against UT and should be scared everytime they play UT. More national titles... UT should win big time non conference games. Idk something like that

To be fair, aside from Texas A&M/ Bama this year, we've dominated Top 25 teams lately. Northwestern last year, Va Tech (although not Top 25 when we played them), Florida, Georgia, Nebraska.

Win 7-9 games a year. Go to a minor bowl with a huge sellout of allotted tickets. Have a clever coach, who makes us proud with witty statements like "life champions". Meanwhile, youngsters in the state become Bama or Titan fans.

Life is good for The Vol Faithful.

Based on where UT currently lies in talent (15th on the 247 Team Talent Composite), their expectation should be about 8.75-3.25, or 9-3 *on average* every season. If you want to remove the G5 teams and go straight P5, it's still 8.5-3.5 not counting bowl performance. Butch Jones has yet to create an average performance to date. Not punching above his weight, just average.

I want us to at least win 9-10 games next season and a shot at the SEC Title against Bama. It's not likely that happens but I would be satisfied with that outcome.

You should change your expectations back to "back in the day".

By the way, Tennessee's schedule and level of talent should set up for 9-3/10-2 next season, but it won't.

Then you should probably pull for a different team if you don't care anymore.

Okay thanks for the power in you to release me. I feel much better. I didn't want to go through a long drawn out separation those are tough on the the little T's.

The administration is pushing me to the point I don't care so much.

No, we got to care enough if the things rumored come to pass. I am going to give the new chancellor and whoever is the AD is a chance. But believe me if this chancellor screws it up she will regret it, and so will the University. By that I mean at my age I will not spend another dime at or on UT until the administration goes another direction, that will be the only way to get things changed if that came to pass. Maybe some would still dish the money out and make big donations but I doubt many would if they felt the administration was going to be a hindrance to athletics. I would still watch the Vols and would never pull for another team but if them things come to pass I would not go back or donate money till the top of the chain got fixed. I pray things will work out. GBO!!!!
