Even More Obamacare Follies

Hollywood is going in front of Congress every month pushing a new cause so why not just skip them and go straight to the source. The whole thing is a farce

Kind of like banning the word bossy?

All my life I've never even given any thought to it being a disparaging term.

that's not really what it says and very few have received (or paid) their bill for it yet.
Fifty-one percent of Americans favor retaining the Affordable Care Act with “small modifications,” while 13 percent would leave the law intact
The real deciding factor will be when more than a quarter of the previously uninsured sign up and start paying. Just wait until they actually need to use it and see how approval changes

Have you researched what the ACA plans actually pay or just been listening to the talking points?

I have researched some of the plans and it is actually good coverage. I would think some are not so good but some is very good coverage.

my point is that people who have lived for years without bills or coverage are in for a shock once they need to start paying out of pocket.

The fact that there is no fine/penalty/tax and they still can't be denied services provides zero incentive to sign up and be subject to the costs.

I have looked at plans and the limits/out of pocket costs were more than double what I have now and premiums were the same. IMO it's only "affordable" if you're receiving subsides and/or are much older

Many, even most, of the plans offer pretty stellar coverage. But the majority are very pricey if they aren't subsidized.

More importantly, for the people that need to sign up in order for the structure to work, namely the young, this level of coverage is totally unnecessary. So coverage can be very good, but if it is unneeded and unaffordable, it's pretty useless.
