Even More Obamacare Follies

What's so hard to believe?

You show me where a 40-something-year-old, with an autoimmunity disorder, can purchase meaningful health care insurance for $50/month and I'll rethink my stance on Obamacare.

Her drugs alone have got to cost more than that.

Should me or you have to chip in?

Obamacare strikes again.

What's there to show, maybe she had insurance before she developed lupus?

Just so you know- prescriptions in generic form, at Walmart, can be purchased for 4 bucks or less.

My insurance did a flip, no out if pocket expenses, now I do.

Not all generics prescriptions are $4. When we did not have insurance my wife had one prescription that ran between $60-125 depending on the pharmacy. Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreen were the highest priced. After we were able to purchase insurance, Humana, that same drug cost us $20 per month.

We chip in with or without Obamacare. Who do you think foots the bill for the millions that are treated by hospitals that do not have insurance ?

What changes? Do you think that the majority of Obamacare beneficiaries will pay their deductibles?

that will not change with Obamacare

It should cut it way down but my point is we are going to contribute one way or other. Now that members of both sides of the aisle are talking about reforming instead of repeal hopefully some much needed changes can be done to improve the bill.

a great mechanic could probably transform a Yugo into something resembling a Ferrari with enough time, bondo and welding. The question is whether that would be the smartest way to obtain a Ferrari in the first place. Not to mention I wouldn't put too many of our current politicians in the "great" category

the current ACA just needs to be scrapped. It's a mess and will fix no issues being faced with insurance in this country.

Have you checked the policies ? The deductibles are not as bad as been reported on VN.

What's the average deductible? 2k?

What's the average emergency room visit cost? 1 to 1.5k (just guessing)? So the insurance company pays squat and we get hit on both sides. This isn't even counting the 20-30% copays after the deductible is met.

If people are getting free or subsidized insurance on the taxpayers dime & at the cost of force feeding people something they don't need something is way wrong.

Our health system has been a disaster for years. We have been providing the uninsured with healthcare for many, many years. Obamacare or not people in America will go down to emergency rooms, be admitted to hospitals and be treated on the taxpayer dime. That is the cold hard truth. The question I ask is it cheaper to help provide a few million people with insurance coverage or pay their entire bill when they go to the hospital. We are going to do one or the other.
