Even More Obamacare Follies

squares with the McKinsey data
Instead, the vast majority are previously insured people, many of whom are getting a better deal on the exchanges because they either qualify for subsidies, or because they’re older individuals who benefit from the law’s steep rate hikes on the young.

Yep - sure looks like a rousing success to me.

Just what we need... another example where the younger generation is paying for the benefits the older generation will receive.

It is truly astounding that a state like Tennessee, with an EMBARRASSINGLY high poverty rate (39%), can be so against a law that is designed to free poor people from the shackles of the free market and give them health insurance.

Maybe the rest don't want to join them. Nobody should be FORCED to give anyone anything.

The only thing guilty of force is the free market price system, which forces poor people to go without medical care.

Speaking for the 1%.......we have been paying for their health care forever and nothing about this law changes that......so, troll somewhere else please

Food stamps increase the demand for food. As everyone besides conservatives knows, demand is what drives economic growth.

It also drives the price up. Who does that affect more? People who actually pay with their money or the freeloaders that pay with somebody else's?

People on food stamps are likely working at minimum wage jobs. They are not free loaders, and likely work harder and longer than cubicle and office 1%ers.

You don't know the system that well, do you? Truly some work, but many don't and have no way of escaping the guaranteed poverty of life long assistance. You might want to go out and meet some folks and learn the truth.

If you receive food stamps or any sort of government assistance you're a freeloader. How hard or how long they work, if at all, is very subjective & who really gives a damn? I don't. There should be incentive & an urgency to do better than that situation instead of incentive to stay in it.

We are all freeloaders in a sense. We use roads, schools, and police departments. Likewise, we benefit from generous tax deductions.

Some of us actually pay taxes.....far more than we should & none of which should be used to feed, shelter, clothe, or support another person in any way. I pay taxes for a variety of things, some of which I use & some of which I don't but have access to. None of it pays for my food or anything else.

Uh, okay. You can pay more taxes if you want, I prefer to just pay my share.
You paying slightly higher taxes helps society, and therefore helps you. I don't want to live in a country with a sick population that will give me diseases. Therefore, it is incredibly worth it to pay taxes to free these people from the free market price system so that they can get medical care.
