We are one banged up football team right now

While Jalen Hurd did participate in the open portion of practice, the Vols' freshman tailback and leading rusher did so in a green, non-contact jersey. So, too, did cornerback Michael Williams and wideout Josh Malone. Evan Berry got work with the Vols' running backs during some portions of practice.

Von Pearson was back on the practice field, and he appeared to be working through his most extensive action since before the Vols' Sept. 6 win against Arkansas State, when Pearson suffered a dislocated ankle.

Marlin Lane did not participate in practice. Lane was in the offense's white uniform, but he did not have on shoulder pads or a helmet. It was the same for defensive lineman Joe Henderson, who is expected to redshirt this year. Charles Mosley did not dress but was on the practice field, moving with a slight limp and a black wrap on the left leg he injured in an automobile accident mid-summer.

Seems like ol Beattie said during the Summer that he would get a look there.

Saw that. Also saw that Butch was fired up today. Apparently calling everyone out from players to coaches. He especially let Bajakian have it.

I heard he just walked up and punched Bajakian right in the mouth and yelled "that's for you VolNation. I am Rod Wilks!" after he did it and then walked off staring down Worley.

Losing and having to field press questions will make you a lil on edge. That shows a dislike for losing and I like that.

False, Rod Wilks is back in the spotlight with the lawsuit he's involved in. Let the Rod Wilks joke start all over again!

I love the way Coach Jones is as a person and as a coach. I hope that he will be the most successful coach that we've ever had and I hope he gets that opportunity.

Hopefully he reaaaaaaaly lets Bajakian have it and Mahoney. There is no excuse for how bad our linemen are at blocking. Freshman or not, they should at least be able to give Worley more than a second. So far to this point, good teams have hit Worley before he gets into is set position to throw on his drop back passes. That is inexcusable.
