Evan Berry Working at RB

Don't you love people who think it's their job to tell other people what to post. Are you Rod Wilks agent or something?

I didn't tell anyone what to post I just said imo it stopped being funny along time ago. Why would Rod Wilks have an agent?

Wow! Did Evan play RB in HS?

Not sure, but I think so. However, him getting a look makes sense to me. With Hurd and Lane both dinged up, Paulk gone, and none of the rest doing anything to yet earn game reps, and Evan stating before he committed that he might want to play offense, it might be a good move. I remember his Dad doing quite well at the position, so it may well be in his genes.

Per GoVolsXtra

Butch Jones referred to it as “experimentation.”

After Tuesday’s practice ended, Tennessee’s football coach watched two freshmen participate in extra running back drills.

Derrell Scott’s presence was no surprise. For weeks, Jones has hinted he is close to playing.

But the other participant wore a defensive jersey, No. 29. Was Evan Berry lost?

“Again, trying to find a spot for him to utilize his speed,” Jones said.

Thoughts?

It's gonna be rough until our offensive line matures or somehow gets massively bigger and stronger overnight. I like that Butch is open to anything that gets his athletes on the field. I hope that it works out for the Berry Twins because I want to see "Berry" back on the field regularly.

How about we experiment with some different blocking schemes since our guys are having so much trouble with our current system? Not trying to be a negavol but I think the speed we have at rb is fine if they weren't hit one yard behind the line of scrimmage by an untouched defensive lineman four out of every five plays.

He was the fastest high schooler in GA last year, I think they ought to let him run a screen or an end around or two a game... Anything to score some points...

Always been a fan of putting your best players on the field.... If Coach Jones feels like he's an exceptional athlete then I'm all for it.

I agree that the oline is the biggest concern. However, I think we're pretty banged up at rb right now.

Nice quote from Maggitt:

Added defensive end/linebacker Curt Maggitt:

“There’s something about the Berry boys. They just want to play football. They don’t care where they’re at.”

It would also be nice to see the RBs take the ball with some forward momentum if not a full head of steam. The current running plays seem to have the QB bringing the ball to a statue.

Someone send some U-Haul fliers to Bajakian's house....if that doesn't work, then leave a U-Haul trailer in his driveway...it that doesn't work move up to a smaller truck and so on until he gets the freakin' message.

False, Rod Wilks is back in the spotlight with the lawsuit he's involved in. Let the Rod Wilks joke start all over again!

Wow.. I get what you're saying about the jokes but you must not have been paying attention, CBJ said in the Monday presser that Jalen would get some practice snaps at TE...
