So I guess JRM is a POS? Or the played who hit #12 later? A lot of these plays are super fast, and it's hard to say they are doing it on purpose. Certainly some targeting is purposeful, but I'm not sure #12 was going there to KO Berry the same way JRM wasn't going out to hit the PR.
Knee jerk reaction whenever someone you cheer for is hit like that.
Targeting call is against defenseless players. Berry was the ball carrier and not defenseless. Very hard hit but not targeting.
They changed the rule this year. It's not only for defenseless players. As a ball carrier, if someone hits you with the crown of their helmet above the shoulders, it's targeting. Additionally, if someone leaves their feet in an upward trajectory and hits you above the shoulders, it's targeting.
That's a reviewable play this year. Why didn't Butch throw a huge fit and call time out to get it looked at. We might as well have. We basically took a knee at the end of the half with 2 remaining
When Galileo or whatever hit Berry in the face mask with his helmet and knocked him out Verne and Gary spooged about the 12th man and playing hard, etc. When Galileo got hit on the punt return they lectured on player safety and cleaning things up. Derp?
CABVOL - Are you sure about that? If that's true then JRM's hit on the App state kick returner was not tartgeting because the dude was not "defenseless".. he crouched down and braced for the hit prior to JRM arriving
