Eric Berry meets Ben Tate

Meh. It was a very strange collision. Not really a big hit or anything. I think Berry was expecting him to break it outside and was aligning himself to catch him from behind.

I actually thought it was a bigger hit until I saw the replay just now. Berry certainly didn't look great on the play, but he didn't get hit that hard, he more or less just lost his balance.

Berry was off bad last night, anyone notice him just sorta following the RB down the sidelines on the one play. I guess he was looking to rip the ball loose but just looked odd and he took some bad angles all night. He had to be tired playing ST and every D snap.

Whether we like to admit it or not, EB has not exactly been spectacular this season.

Eric Berry is no doubt the best DB we have seen all year, and thats forecasting the remainder of the season. He will be a top 10 pick for the NFL.
Ben Tate, though, is a man on a mission this year and Ontario McCallebb is one fast little guy. I saw him for the first time in person at the A-Day game and burned right past our DB's like they were stuck in the mud.

I dont understand that point at all. EB hasnt had any "big plays", but you cant deny the kid isnt in on almost every play it seems. I think he had 15 tackles last night. Unless you mean "spectacular" as in ESPN top 10 plays...then i disagree

He is doing alright. He has not been spectacular. Missing on a number of tackles, misplaying a ball or two. Plays you would normally think he would make...
Thing is he set the standard so high. I'm not trying to dog him out, he has been EB, but there just seem to be a few plays left out there to be made.

Heres my question. Tate played how many plays? 25? 30 max?

Berry was on the field over half the game.

He's had some highlight hits and has been all around the ball. He's not been out of this world Eric Freakin Berry though...

Hey underwood, whose helmet came flying off that one play? I was afraid that there was a head in it.

You have a point but that is in part of Ben Tate and Ontario McCalleb and Chris Todd having sustained drives.

:lolabove: your kidding right. He is only carrying the whole team on his sholders.

He is doing his job. Spectacular is not the word to describe it. Is he a spectacular stand out football player? Yes. Has his play been absolutely spectacular? Not exactly. There have been some plays left to be made. He would tell you the same.

It says a LOT when on an off night a guy gets 11 solo tackles and 3 assists...14 TACKLES TOTAL. Wow...he sucks.

Check out the Auburn D stats. No one even comes close to those numbers.

He was tired and mentally drained from qb play. It runs deep, boys.

The guy can't do it all. He needs someone to step up much like Rico did last night. EB has not really played his normal spot all year, He is basically a rover now. W/out EB last night we lose 30-0 by halftime.

I can see what you're saying, but teams have also been scared to throw his way, so all he can do is try to get to the ball (on the opposite side of the field) and make a big hit.
