I remember when I was younger the only games I could afford were games like this. Some people look forward to seeing the VOLS once a year and it is a team like this. I believe Butch is gone at end of the regular season even if they are bowl eligible.

Meh. Student tix used to be free. What are they now, $10 for non conference and $20 for SEC games? That pays for the janitorial staff to clean up after them. Giving your tickets to someone else to enjoy is a much more noble guesture imo.

On tv it looked like some fairly empty spots.

Then the cameras panned around during the game and you could tell it was pretty full but it looked more empty because so many people didn't wear orange and many were in smoky colors.

For a HC game against a nobody team it looked like a pretty good crowd.

70K showed up to see UT blow them out. When they realized Tennessee sucks and that a blowout wasnt happening more than half the crowd just left.

Thats a barometer. You have to be a hard core fan just to even go to the Southern Miss game when the UT is so bad. And even those people got up and left...lol

There are post calling out #emptyneyland. Emptyneyland is a movement. Not claiming the stadium will actually be empty. Wow the idiots.....

I was at the game last night. Why I don't know. But to start the game there were probably 70-75k in attendance. Maybe 80k max. The 95k announced is not tickets scanned. It's a lie. A fluff.

Emptyneyland is working and only getting started.

Neyland was 25-35k empty of its capacity.

I saw no one I know around me as far as I can see. I sit in section where old money has been coming for years. I saw nothing but water heads who probably have never been to a game ever and probably got their ticket for free or 5.00 each.

We tried to give away 4 tickets last night and had ZERO takers....

Best fan base in the country hands down. 75-80,000 yesterday is a testament to our fan base. The Empty Neyland crap was embarrassing and I am glad it didn't happen. Does nothing but hurt our program and recruiting. If anyone saw the Florida State game yesterday, they might have had 35,000 fans at their game. They have had a lot more success than we have the past 10 years and yet our fans still show up. Kudos to everyone that attended the game last night!

You're a moron if you actually think your " emptyneyland" movement does anything positive for this program . Butch is going to be fired at some point this season so there is no reason to not support this team/ players.

Saban doesn't like it when Bama fans leave games early either. Really was nothing to see in the 4th quarter of game where we were playing our 3rd string QB against a team that was not threatening us in any way.

Most had left early into the second half. By the fourth quarter it was pretty empty. Anyone who says there was 95,000 wasn't at the game. I would say about 65,000. Several sections were only half full or less, especially those sections near the students and in the upper level.

The was a very audible boo when Jones was announced. The game itself was a snoozer. I took an Iranian friend who had never been to an American football game. Even he thought the flag happy refs were killing the game. Combine that with all the three and outs and extended commercial timeouts and was probably my worst time a Neyland. Still nice to go to the stadium and see all the kids, many probably at their first game.

I watched one quarter and then switched to continue binge watch "Shameless" on Netflix. Does that make me a bad fan?

I know that series has no redeeming social value

Agree.
Hell I've been railing on this all week... And I left with about 10 min to go.

People showed up, it was fairly lively thru the 3rd quarter, considering opponent and circumstance of the season.

Empty neyland was a fail.

Got to spend the day with my family watching the Vols play in Neyland Stadium. Really don’t give a rip who the coach is. Not gonna miss the chance to spend time with my kids doing things like that because we have a crappy coach. I’m not a Vols fan because of the coach. I’m a fan of my state and it’s school. Fan of the big orange through good coaches and bad.

Agree. Singing rocky top with my two girls was awesome.

The coaching issue is going to get resolved so why not enjoy it for what it is at this point.

Anybody hoping to embarrass the coach/his family/the school/ your mama etc by emptying Neyland yesterday... it didn’t happen AT ALL. When CBJ was announced as coach if one strained his ear really hard you might could imagine a faint weak boo in one or two seats but it was so pathetic that the assumption by everyone I knew was ...“Poor drunk”....
