Empty Neyland Movement (#uncluttervolnation)

What if these whiny brats donated a ticket and one of those kids that went was the next Peyton Manning and during recruiting could reflect on that?

Ooooorrrrrr you could do it because it’s called not being a d*ck

Every time I go to home game.. I get hit up by the “bombers” trying to raise money to get Cooperstown.. What bothers me is the dad over there with $300.00 sun glasses while the kids holding $200 bats begging for money.. sorry.. Get someone else to pay for your hotel room, gas and food.. I can’t stand that

It's the "homeless" that bothers me.

Donating tickets to someone else is defeating the point of the whole silent protest some people are planning. It’s not about the money, or kids, or being a Good Samaritan. It’s about showing their disapproval in the current administration the only way they can.

#dowhatyouwant

Of course people are allowed to do what they want. But wasting tickets that are already purchased is not doing anything. Not repurchasing season tickets next year would show the administration something. But we will see how many of these "silent protesters" do that. :good!:

It is doing something. If 20000 or whatever don’t go even if they have bought the tickets, think about concessions and apparel. That would be a lot of lost revenue in clothing and the crappy hot dogs they now have.

I suppose I should have said it had no negative impact...it was, however, arguably impactful in sending a mesg to UA admin that the current state of affairs would not be supported.

It had zero impact, positive or negative, on who was hired.

Look back at the fits when Fulmer was let go. How did hiring influence of those fits turn out?

Decisions will be made by those who are in a position to make them. They will be influenced by their experience, knowledge, and those that have the funding.

These movements are just feel good attempts at feeling powerful. That in itself is not bad. However, when the reflect poorly on the fan base they are just a cancer. These same people are concerned about being the "laughing stock" of college football. At the same time, they are the laughing stock of college football fans.

It showed the AD that the Bama fans demanded higher than what they were given, and eventually Bama hired a good coach and have been the best team in history lately.

But yea..."zero"

So, when a fan base has their fits and a bad coach is hired, should these fans be held accountable for failing?

You are an idiot to believe bad behavior results in a good hire.

I can hear the postgame meeting now. " That buyout is just too bi....OH MY GOD! LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PETROS CHILI BOWL SALES!?! FIRE HIS ASS!!!"

I am truly sorry about your loss man. Well hopefully we will get some change that is needed and hope to see you back in the stadium soon!

Thank you its been a couple of years since i lost my dad . I have alot of great memories in Neyland with him . WE used to go eat at SAM and ANDYS before that we would eat at the Quarterback which was a pizza place down on the corner on Cumberland. In the 90s it was Guses deli i always got an extra sandwich for the game. KPD would always bust my balls for it at the gate but always let me take it in LOL. The best was the 90s though when we were winning big. Im sorry for the negativity but i just feel that the administration takes the best fan base in college football for granted and have for the past decade. Thats why i say if you want to go but dont think bad of people that have decided not back this administration and its slow and bad decisions . If your gonna have a stadium that seats 100000 people you better have a team That wins if you want it to be full.

The movement NOT giving the tickets to kids is the absolute best thing we can do for the kids!!!

Seeing how this will effect the Athletic director to make change. Will give these kids a lesson in economics & power of togetherness. That can be taught to them.

And that's a lesson that will stick with them forever.

That's WAY better than any lesson that a Butch Jones led football team could EVER teach them about football!

Not much revenue compared to the donations at the beginning of the season. "Other" made up a measly 5% of the revenue in 2016. Tickets and donations made up 50%. Look up the data if you want. :hi:

The title of the thread defends the movement. You described it as frail. It only got to that point because those in charge let it get that way. This movement is the only hope some of the smaller folk have of trying to make a statement or have a say.

So, to all you people telling people not going to donate their tickets because the children might be the next Peyton, I'm going to assume you aren't going to the game either? You'd have to be a real piece of work to feel that way about the situation and then go to the game yourself and not give them to the kids.

I'll make this statement, if Clay Travis is correct and Butch is gone within 48 hours, I'll see that as a positive step. I'll buy 25 tickets and give them to children in my area who've never been to a game.

They cannot impact in a significant way who is hired. You are correct..but they CAN impact the removal of a coach, which is the objective here. Stop saying otherwise. It makes you look ignorant.

It also has no lasting negative impact on the ut "brand", recruits, or recruitment of coaches that might come here.

It's really just a bunch of internet warriors trying to feel more important than they are. "Look at me I contributed to Butch's firing!!!"

You are an idiot to believe bad behavior results in a good hire.

You are arguing a completely different point here, you answered a question with another question, and you used a personal attack as well...

Just face it, it means you have an awful argument. Calling someone an idiot doesn't change that

Bama fans rioted and now Bama is the best program in the history of football. Bama fans displeasure notified the AD that they werent going to tolerate another crap hire. Prove me wrong.

I personally know more a dozen long time season ticket holders who posses 100+ combined tickets who aren't going and aren't using their tickets. We are in our late 40s to mid 60s. This isn't just a bunch of young people who aren't ticket holders. Although those young people are the future of the program, as they will eventually graduate and end up as future donors to some program.

I hope they are not going to continue to financially support the program that seems to be continually letting them down.

Let someone else buy those from UT and support a program they like.

Our family will keep our 14 including two in the East Club.
