Empty Neyland Movement (#uncluttervolnation)

So, you're championing a boycott of an event that you admittedly haven't attended in 16 years?

yeah, that's part of the reason I haven't been, Not to mention buying tickets at the price they cost you might as well burn money for the product being put on the field, parking is nuts, cost of concessions, and game times decided at the whim of television.

I can just set in my nice comfy chair and watch it on my HD big screen TV and talk about what is happening with fellow fans via twitter!

I dont know 🤔. If you take your money, and buy a product, and that product being entertainment in the form of UT Football. Said product doesnt live up to EXPECTATIONS oh lord what should you do?

A. STFU and let the Admin. give you the big green weenie over and over while telling you you should like it.

B. Your not a real fan if you demand accountability for a coach who makes over 4 million per year. So you should go find another team because at 3-5 we dont need no bandwagon fans. Literally are they bandwagon fans jumping on TNs wagon....

Or

C.Finally wake the F*** Up and realize UT football is a business. How does the common man shrink the business down to his level. Think like a business. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

I choose C as when i buy a ticket i am giving, or donating money to the University. Now im just a USMC veteran who drives OTR so my money comes hard earned. If i donate to, or buy a product from a business i EXPECT that product to meet, or exceed my EXPECTATIONS.

I think you missed the point. He said if you spend your money and still go you have no right to complain. Some people can voice their concerns and still be an adult.

Again, just because I still go does not mean Butch will be back next year. I have voiced my opinion to UTAD and UTFund. I've missed 1 home game since I was able to get my season tickets in 1996. Still have seen coaches fired.

1,000 idiots are still idiots.

Anyone who tweets this is an idiot sheep.

It is such a cheap attempt to feel empowered.

The sad thing is that Butch is going to get canned and whether it's 10, 20 or 40k empty seats, this "movement" will claim victory.

Next thing you know the rallying cry will be Stadium Seats Matter. They have a right to be depressed only by contented bottoms when the team is winning; nobody has a right to cover their voices when things are not going to their liking. Only the seats can tell!

Paul is right. It's a temper tantrum.

Or maybe some of us are sick of dropping thousands every year for a garbage product. I'm not driving 3 hours to Knoxville and spending more money on food, gas, booze, all that stuff. I'll come back when our ad shows they care about winning.

I made that point myself and I agree.

It is okay, the only people that would give that any validity are the other weak ones.

I find it interesting that you hear so much about the "brand" yet they are willing to tarnish that brand for the closest thing they can muster to personal power. They bash a coach and an AD that they could never match in terms of power.

They think they are Vol fans but they are really just in need of something to make them feel bigger than they really are. They have attached that need to a football program that has net met their need and they feel weak, angry, and afraid.

It is good to be in a position where you can let friends, who are fans of other teams, give you some grief and know that the grief does not diminish who you are.

The sheep are the ones are still willing to go to the game and pay money for concessions and have a good time and act like nothing at all is wrong.

The University administration is now run by people who only care about education they want to be like Vanderbilt or Stanford or some of those northeast schools who don't really care if the athletic teams win games.

Bev & John they will be excited if every 6 or 8 years we have a great team and win 10 or 11 games and are ranked in the top 10 but that is all. They are perfectly fine with records like 7-5 , 8-4 or the occasional 9-3 or even 6-6 as long as people show up and have a good time.

Just look at the plan to take out seats at Neyland for the addition of fancy suits/boxes. Those people pay big money but really don't care at the end of the day if the team wins or loses as long as they can put on there fancy orange dresses and hats or polo shirts and khakis and have a good time with there friends for a few hours.

Ok

I wonder why someone who's own job wouldn't go great for him if people united against him could cost him his job in loss ad revenue would not like fans coming together as one to demand change?

Haha wow, you seem really confused as to what this thing is all about. Thanks for trying to make sense of it though?

Lolol...you're taking this way too seriously.

Recruits and players haven't been jumping ship because there are not enough people in the stands. They are jumping ship because Butch is still coaching and there is a lack of leadership in the administration. This is only going to get worse when Butch doesn't make a bowl game.

You sure? Anyone in there right mind thought he would have been canned three weeks ago. At this point if they somehow beat Southern Miss, Missouri LSU & Vandy I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bring him back with staff changes for 2018.

Wrong again, not all people who go to the games are desperate for an ego boost. We want the Vols to win because we enjoy it and we want the program to succeed.

If you don't like the program just walk away and find someone else to hate on.

I have some sad news for you. When the team wins, it does not make you a winner. You are still a loser if are just going to complain the moment something doesn't go your way and exactly when you want it.

Only you can make yourself a winner or loser.

Look you don't have to be for the empty Neyland movement.

It's each fans choice.

Attacking the ones of us who are tired of not being heard and are coming together to make a stand only speaks volumes on yourself.

This is trending on twitter
Every sports news outlet is picking it up.
It's here it's real.
It's impossible for the AD to ignore now.

You don't have to support it.
If you do, let's bring change.
