Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

did it come out today? How much does it cost? And someone tell me they added more levels to the cap.

EDIT: its been out since the 26th? piss. Anyone care to rate it?

Bought it the other day, but haven't had much chance to delve into it yet. I did read that Dawnguard does not increase the level cap, it just adds perks for the werewolf/vampire trees. Low level or restarting players are going to probably get more enjoyment out of the DLC.

one thing I don't like is that there is no separate recruitment by the vampires, you only get to their castle during your first quest with the Dawnguard, even in a video game, I have a hard time turning my back on someone I just signed up with but that's what the DLC expects you to do if you want to follow the vampire path

Haven't gotten far but the crossbow alone is worth the price of admission. I kept the vampire chick and I'm rolling 3 deep in dungeons :)

the enhanced dwarven crossbow with explosive dwarven bolts of fire is a lot of fun

interesting Dawnquard weapons and armor are available in radiant quests following the main storyline

I've almost ruined the game for myself by exploiting a glitch in the alchemy system that allows you to create super powerful potions...almost.

having an armor rating of over 10K is pretty handy when playing on expert

haven't played mine in a while, but i found a rather interesting glitch in skyrim

in one of the side quests you run into a talking dog called "barbas," he tells you to follow to help out his master (who turns out to be some sort of trickster deity or something)

if you go and help him out the first time then he sends you on another quest to find a weapon, with barbas accompanying you...and he'll continue to follow you unless you complete the quest

this "glitch" is very nice for raiding dungeons, as barbas is invincible and will draw the attention away from you...only draw back is it makes sneaking and stealing MUCH harder, and can get in the way sometimes

anyone done this too?

Serana can't be killed either and she has ice spikes.

but the quest you're talking about is pretty fun and Barbas sounds a little like Norm MacDonald.

Can you get them both to follow you? Also, that doesn't sound like a glitch to me. Just sounds like a tip.

tip/glitch whatever

i only call it a glitch bc i doubt they meant for a player to be able to walk around with an invincible dog

I've never tried it, but I think you can only have one follower at a time, regardless of the type.

i had barbas and a companion, whoever that first girl companion is...i don't think barbas counts as one

Normally you can only have one humanoid and non-humanoid follower (like Fallout). People who follow you in certain quests don't count toward that limit.

Anyone played Dawnguard?

Underwhelming IMO. It adds some features that should have been in the original but the new quest additions, while fun, don't really deviate at all from the standard game. Definitely no Shivering Isles, but if you're a Skyrim junkie it's probably worth it.

It sucks that you can't marry Serana.

I'm hoping that the next DLC expansion deals with the Dwemer in more detail.

You can have multiple followers, just start certain quests that trigger a unique follower then don't finish the quest

Anybody on the consoles ever run into the "reanimate thrall" glitch where even if you don't have any thralls currently active it's still listed in your active effects? It's getting annoying running around town having everybody give me dirty looks and saying "Hey! Watch out with that magic!".

Anybody else going to download the "Hearthfire" expansion coming up on Tuesday?
