From a big Vol baseball fan and former college player back in the horse and carriage days who typically does not post here. So folks can scroll on by if anybody is offended. He discussed it at length in the post game interview, pointing directly to communication with the staff and players at critical moments.

Good on you, chuckie, for acknowledging the truth.
Infallibility of coaches is not a thing. We should accept their flaws and mistakes even more than our own. Recognizing the error of one's ways relatively soon in the process and making a positive change is a great thing. That tells me that we may indeed have the right HC to lead this team. Young team and first year staff needs the communication throughout the game in the dugout by the leader. The coaches can also talk to each other more about what they see.
One is for the staff to quit waiting one batter too long before making a pitching change. You haae two on base and the pitcher struggling, make the change. The next guy needs the margin of error to locate the plate. Second, to then make the change based not only on the opponent's lineup but also on conditions. Josh blew that twice with Krenzel. First, with the rain at UGA when it was clear he could not control his pitches. Grip pressure and feel is a thing in damp weather. Second was Vandy. Do not use power pitchers with fastballs that stay straight or rise. Krenzel's do that - they move laterally. Fly balls with gale force winds behind them do not end well for the pitcher and defense. Use junkballers, preferrably lefties, that get the ball lower and dart in and out of the zone. That helps get the batters out in front and whiff or roll over to hit weak grounders.
I believe Josh will be a fast learner and do well here.
