Either We Are Going To Support UT Or We Are Not

we have to give the guy a chance, are you a UT fan? well I am, and I will support any coach they bring in......:eek:k:

As shown by our coaching search there does'nt seem to be many that have the fortitude to try to clean up the mess left by previous regime. I also think that there is some leftover hate and everyone is upset. I would and will feel bad for the fans of any program that will go through what we just did, but hope that when we hire someone that they don't give those players and fans the bum rush we got.

The hate is because these homers thought we could pull a top tier coach. Well guess what fellas this job is not on the high priority list of most coaches. That and the fact that most coaches with any dignity wouldn't hose their schools this close to NSD.

Here's the thing go. You have never seen me or met me. You can't base anything on that.

I've seen Dooley coach. I've seen the resume. It's not good. Yet we are still hiring this guy.

The resume of two #1 recruiting classes is not good?

You amaze me.

alright for all you vol fans that say you are. if you dont wanna support this coach dont be a ut fan alright an for the people wanting to start a riot because of this you my friend are crazy this is why nobody wants to come here they cant make the fans happy they dont stand behind there coach an always complaining grow some balls an an stop complaining and support this coach he is the coach of our team. alright i love this university an town an state an team im all vol i bleed orange so that means to mean that i support an stand behind my coach no matter who it is.. this is my opinion how our fans react is hurting our recruiting an hurting us in getting a coach LETS STAND BEHIND HIM!!!!!! GO VOLS!!!

Anyone on this board can be the recruiting coordinator at LSU? You have at least 20 SEC caliber players in state every year that will jump at the chance to be a Tiger

I did NOT want Derek Dooley. That said, I will support him to the wall. I wish him ultimate success and hope that he lasts as long as his dad did/does at UGA. My tickets are not for sale.

However, Mike "Summer's Eve" Hamilton has burned his last bridge. I don't care if Dooley wins the next 10 BCS national championship games. Hamilton is a stooge and a fool. He had no plan and was forced to react instead of act. He MUST go.

We get it already. You feel the need to follow a coach blindly, you are angry that not everyone agrees with you, and you don't feel the need to use punctuation.

Well I hope for the best and expect the worst. But to be honest I don't know enough about him. I have read his resume and I hope he can get it done.

GO VOLS !!!

This is true. What we asked all those coaches to do to their schools was exactly what Kiffin just did to us.

Yes he had a bad season last year. However, he won a bowl game the year before? If i remember correctly that puts him with a more recent bowl game then Tennessee, and with one more than Lane Kiffin. Also add on recruiting for Saban when they won the national championship. He also has NFL experience. Sounds like a someone we can take a chance on to me...

Here's my thing. Look at La Tech's coach before Dooley was there. He was 16-20 the three seasons before he was gone. Dooley? 17-20. No improvement.

He has one year of NFL experience. I mean, it's something, but not really anything at the same time.

I know he was the recruiting coordinator in name, but Nick Saban is the real recruiter anywhere, including LSU.

I just think this is a bad hire and is not good for our program. I'd rather have Kippy, or a young, NFL position coach than Dooley.

You can sit her and tell me you KNOW this is a bad hire? really because i would really like to get in on this looking glass or whatever it is you have. What is sad is that people like you would want him to do bad just so that you will be right. You are going to tell me that is a fan? Yes, be mad about the situation but that is not Dooley's fault in the least bit. Everyone should be behind him helping us get out this current situation, not the opposite.

Agreed, can you give me some stock and gambling tips while you are peering into that looking glass?

I support the new coach. You have no idea whether he will be good or bad until they tee it up next fall.

It's good. Then you realize that Nick Saban is the coach, and is the real reason for the #1 classes. It's not like he's at Bama not pulling in Top 25 classes, they are gonna have three straight #1 classes.

I have always been a Vol and I always will be a Vol and I reserve the right to disagree with the hire .I have supported the Vols for a long time and I will as long as I am breathing so dont try to call me a bandwagon fan . I will be in the stands cheering for the Vols next year win or lose . We just settled for mediocrity and I really don't care what the koolaid drinkers on here think

Just because a few people on here are willing to give whoever the new coach is a chance does not necessarily make them kool-aide drinkers.

Just because they are not acting like a bunch of spoiled 5 year old kids like the rest of the board doesn't make them kool-aide drinkers either.

On the other side, a person has every right to disagree with the hire. That does not make anyone a bandwagon fan

Oh please. We've been waiting since 1998 for a conference title. We have just had our program set back about 5 years. I don't blame anyone here who is downright furious with the current situation.

Stupid hire...insane...crazy..someone freaking shoot me...3-8 in the WAC...I need a drink...

So what you're saying is that Saban should not have hired a recruiting coordinator at all.

Someone has to do the talking for him, and that guy was our new head coach.

I support UT!!! Win, lose, tie...preferably win, win, win...but I support whoever coaches the kids who chose to become a part of this beloved tradition.

For UT, for Dooley and for the image of Vol fans!

You want this guy to be successful? Then make it happen. Get fired up that he took the job. Make any recruit that is thinking about leaving feel like he might be about to make a huge mistake. Make the fans of the other SEC schools wonder if we just found the diamond in the ruff.
Hell, Lane Kiffin was all perception, and perception is reality. Lane road his reality into the highest profile job in the country. If a guy with his trouble with media relations can sell himself into 2 top tier CFB HC jobs in less than 2 years, surely we can help the Spawn of Vince (with better credentials than Lane) sell himself to our recruits and each other.
If the deal is done, than Dooley is a Vol and we should all take great offense to anyone who s#@t talks a fellow Vol!
I am sorry to all you who were sold on Cut,Gruden,Lovie Stoops, Lombardi, Madden, Bear Bryant, Majors, Phil and Lee Corso.

Saban doesn't need a recruiting coordinator. He is the recruiting coordinator. It's just a title. It doesn't mean a lot, trust me.

It's okay to be angry at the situation, but let's not forget that if Dooley actually comes to Knoxville, he is coming here at our time of need. It isn't his fault that we are in this situation. He deserves zero blame right now. He wants to win ballgames, and it is in his blood. We need to pick him up and get behind him, because he is signing up to become a Volunteer at a time when apparently nobody else wants the job. In my view, that's what it means to be a Vol.

He hasn't even been given the keys yet, and some of us are announcing his failure. In my book, he starts out a winner and we go from there. I look forward to the day that he proves many of you naysayers wrong. Some people relish the underdog role. Maybe he is one of those people. Maybe we'll find out if Hammy will get on with it, and make the announcement already.

great post
