The hate is because these homers thought we could pull a top tier coach. Well guess what fellas this job is not on the high priority list of most coaches. That and the fact that most coaches with any dignity wouldn't hose their schools this close to NSD.
Yes he had a bad season last year. However, he won a bowl game the year before? If i remember correctly that puts him with a more recent bowl game then Tennessee, and with one more than Lane Kiffin. Also add on recruiting for Saban when they won the national championship. He also has NFL experience. Sounds like a someone we can take a chance on to me...
You can sit her and tell me you KNOW this is a bad hire? really because i would really like to get in on this looking glass or whatever it is you have. What is sad is that people like you would want him to do bad just so that you will be right. You are going to tell me that is a fan? Yes, be mad about the situation but that is not Dooley's fault in the least bit. Everyone should be behind him helping us get out this current situation, not the opposite.
I have always been a Vol and I always will be a Vol and I reserve the right to disagree with the hire .I have supported the Vols for a long time and I will as long as I am breathing so dont try to call me a bandwagon fan . I will be in the stands cheering for the Vols next year win or lose . We just settled for mediocrity and I really don't care what the koolaid drinkers on here think
Oh please. We've been waiting since 1998 for a conference title. We have just had our program set back about 5 years. I don't blame anyone here who is downright furious with the current situation.
It's good. Then you realize that Nick Saban is the coach, and is the real reason for the #1 classes. It's not like he's at Bama not pulling in Top 25 classes, they are gonna have three straight #1 classes.
It's okay to be angry at the situation, but let's not forget that if Dooley actually comes to Knoxville, he is coming here at our time of need. It isn't his fault that we are in this situation. He deserves zero blame right now. He wants to win ballgames, and it is in his blood. We need to pick him up and get behind him, because he is signing up to become a Volunteer at a time when apparently nobody else wants the job. In my view, that's what it means to be a Vol.
He hasn't even been given the keys yet, and some of us are announcing his failure. In my book, he starts out a winner and we go from there. I look forward to the day that he proves many of you naysayers wrong. Some people relish the underdog role. Maybe he is one of those people. Maybe we'll find out if Hammy will get on with it, and make the announcement already.
