consequences aren't just bad. and i would say the Revolution sucked for everyone involved. and yes they did face the consequences. the king sent in armies and they kicked them out. they faced the consequences of their actions and thankfully overcame them.

How am I using a slippery slope? This is exactly what happened. The U.S. Government took part in illegal activities and he pointed it out. Just like any other contract, illegal activities should also nullify a NDA.

Should and do are two totally different things. I can attest to the fact that if you are under a NDA and you notice something illegal, there are certain avenues to use and one of those is not go to the press with sensitive information.

I dont know if I think they would have come out and admitted wrong doing, but I do believe there would have been an investigation by oversight.

No, because he betrayed the USG with the sensitive information he was charged with and didnt go through the proper avenues for whistleblowing. The safe keep of sensitive information is very important to me.

Because the people have a right to know. Why do so many of you just blindly accept the government keeping anything they want from us?

because there are tens of thousands of things the government does that effects me that i don't need to know about. and frankly probably wouldn't change much at all if we did know. as a voter i have a right to an opinion, thats about it. if i don't have enough people agreeing with me on it, say 50% of the population the Consitituion is pretty mum on what happens to me outside of a few unalienable rights. I don't remember the part in the Constitution that says i have the right to know everything the government is doing that effects me.

what would it change? congrats you knew they were spying on us before Snowden leaked the information. Most people with a pulse already knew this. if the government had taken action and removed the problem, and punished the people responsible, what would you have gained for knowing?

Check the bill of rights. It guarantees your right to privacy.
