Just a thought....and a very naive one at that. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's much harder than it looks.
It's up to the human race to help people, not just churches. How are churches supposed to do all of this when most of the people within the churches are struggling to make ends meets themselves? It would take BILLIONS of dollars yearly to cut out government social services with all the people on it these days.
Also,I've got news for you not everybody will let you help them. I've given money to people over the years to help them out and all they would do is squander it on lotto tickets, cheap booze, and drugs, all the while taking my money and lying to me every time their mouth moved. I've even let 2 people live with me on separate occasions for 2-3 months at a time not charging them a dime and neither time did the people even attempt to help themselves. You would not believe the lies I listened to,and the stuff that was stole from me.
I agree homelessness is a huge problem, and I have compassion for people, but you can't always just throw money at something and fix it.
Sorry if I sounded mean spirited. That's not my intention.
