Yeah. Martin really came on strong. Hopefully he and Walker will gain some bulk to help them with stopping the run.

Yes both Martin and Walker need to be playing at 240-250 instead of 230. Walker needs to work on those legs and booty...way too skinny for a DE especially if he wants to make the next level.

They better be on a steady diet of heavy squats and power cleans and lots of eating over the spring/summer.

I think V Thomas ends up staying on defense. all 4 backups behind Hughes and Walls are questionable as to how much they can help. Will need all bodies possible just to play 10-12 snaps a game to give the front two rest. Even if they contribute nothing but rolling around on the ground.

Brown, academic concerns. May not even get in.

Nelson, 8 snaps a game, please..

Sykes, has not played a snap in 3 years. Can he give any snaps to them?

Jeffrey, total unknown. getting healthy but no clue how impacted or how much he can contribute..

Wouldn't be shocked to see them try other OL even though they are short in the OL also..

Brimfield seems like a guy destined to make no impact on the offensive line. Do you think he is a guy that could get moved back to DT?

he could but it is doubtful he makes an impact there either. he might be able to fill 8 snaps a game taking up space. Kid doesn't have much effort / motivation...

looking what Wilcox had to work with at Boise State I think the DE's might see some time at tackle too...his whole defense averaged round 6'1 and round 245...wasn't really anyone as big...by what i've seen also he uses alot of speed to hit the quarterback before he even has a chance to think.

O-line looks a little weak. I'm worried about that. Hopefully Juwan James and Stone step up in a HUGE way. We needed some LB's and DT's bad in this class.. BAD.

You can do that in the WAC.

I like our offense. Especially the potential of this class in the future with Bray, BB, James, Stone, and our WR core.

O-Line is big question mark. Wait and see.

IMO, I believe we will be better this year at LB's. Reveiz will be back. Frazier and Lathers got good experience this past year. I really like LaMarcus Thompson.

D-Line will be the biggest question. Very thin but I like our DE's (Walker, Martin, Miller, and Smith)

Hopefully Wilcox and get the most out of them as he did at Boise. The games I watched Boise (vs. Oregon, vs. TCU), the D-Line played very fast and hard every play. I like that idea of Wilcox working with better talent.

I think we will be playing a 3-4 defense and J. Smith will be a LB in that scheme.

J. James having gone thru spring practice should have a good shot to start at RT.

Tackles - Douglas, James
Guards - D. Thomas, Shaw
Center - V. Thomas

We are running a 4-3. 100% for sure.

4-3 against pro-styles likely a 4-2-5 base against spread teams. I think this is what he did at Boise. Of course we have LBs that can play like some DBs he was using.

I hope Teague moves to D & starts at CB. Teague would be a shut down corner imo. Dude is smart, athletic & would be a ball hawking beast. We must get our play makers on the field. No more time to play around. I think Dooley will love Teague's football IQ, therefore he will see plenty of action.

Mine would be as follows:
QB- Stephens, Bray, Simms, Lamaison, Nance (RS)
RB- Brown, Poole (I really think he pushes Brown for number 1 reps,)Oku, Williams, Neal (RS)
FB- Cooper, Johnson, Fugate
WR-Jones, Milton, Hunter (needs weight to avoid rs though,) Rogers
WR-Moore, Rogers (starts by game 3,) Teague (probably better suited at db,) Meline (RS unless used in return game)
TE- Stocker, Rivera, Bartholomew, Adderly
RT- Schofield, Hood, Pair (RS)
RG- Thomas, Fulton, Brimfield
C- Thomas, Pope, Revis
LG- Shaw, Stone, Anderson
LT- Douglas, James
DE- Martin, Williams, Miller, Fowlkes
DE- Walker, Bohannon, Smith
DT- Hughes, Sykes, Nelson
DT- Walls, Brown, Jeffrey
OLB- Frazier, King, Nelson, Crump (RS)
MLB- Reveiz, Lathers, M-Thornton, Propst (RS)
OLB- Thompson, Askew, Jackson (RS), Sapp (too big too not be a LB to me RS)
CB- Clark, Gordon, Raines, Fleming
CB- Evans, Anderson, Oliver, Dixon (RS)
S- Jackson, Waggner
S- Myles, Loften, Wilks
K- Palardy, Lincoln
P- Cunningham
KR- Oku, Meline
PR- Jones, Oliver

A ton of talent at the offensive skill positions and a lot of experience at LB, and DE. Stephens has enough playmakers that if he can simply be efficient with ball he will be fine, easier said than done with this guy but I remain optimistic. Obviously the OL is a glaring question mark and guys are gonna have to know multiple positions there, but I trust Chaney and CHH to churn out some more overachievers if we stay relatively healthy. The DT's are going to be a problem any way you slice it.... all the coaching in the world is not gonna make Chase Nelson an SEC caliber DT and I doubt Sykes will get big enough. If John Brown doesn't make it in we are in serious trouble. DB is an area of concern, but could be a strength if some of the young talent like Eric Gordon, Nyshier Oliver, and Darren Myles come to play.

So who is our special teams coach? Hope to god he does better than last year. if Palardy can boot it in the endzone everytime like they say he can. thats a huge bonus!
