10-2(bama/lsu) we win the east. We have good options at QB and Kelly plus talented young RB will make waves. If Jennings and Malone along with Wolf we will have a decent passing attack. We should have good depth on the DL, linebacker, and secondary. We had such a rough year with injuries might be a blessing for 2017 as guys got some good playing time.

Florida has A&M/LSU in back to back weeks
Georgia has at Aubrn

My prediction is that Butch Jones is fired after week 3.

We will hire an AD that will actually have a replacement lined up before we fire the coach the way it should be done.

To be honest it's too early to tell, do Kamara or Malone declare for the draft? Which QB takes over and do they do so convincingly? What staff changes are made and who do we bring in in this year's recruiting class? All of that to say that I'm extremely optimistic for next year's team as I think we mature in the right areas and carry over some of the luck we saw during UF/UGA. I get people are pissed with Butch but I'm choosing to be optimistic and genuinely give him a shot for next year. It's not like with his current contract/changes in administration that any amount of b*tching and moaning will do anything before the '17 season anyway.

Um... a coach in place before we fire Jones? In week 4?

What coach will be available mid-season? Tressel? Fulmer?

Where can I put money on us losing more than 1 game?

Way too many questions at a majority of positions (beginning at qb) all over the field, on both sides of the ball, to even entertain the idea that Tennessee goes 10-2 and and wins the East. How many positions can you feel good about right now where you can say we're good to go, that can play a championship level?

On offense, WR if Malone comes back, maybe at RB if Kelly stays healthy and Chandler comes in as a great freshman player.

On defense, where are we solid to great? Maybe at middle linebacker with DKJr, who wasn't very good when he was on the field this year? Who excites on the DL? At corner? At safety?...maybe Warrior, who couldn't get on the field this year despite our historically defensive secondary?

You never know, but if you're simply looking at this team on paper and trying to predict anything, you have to think we take a step back in 2017.

Anyone predicting more than 8 wins is an idiot. You don't get better by losing Dobbs, Kamara, Barnett, Vereen, or Sutton. Not to mention the leadership of JRM, even though he barely played. There is absolutely no reason to believe Butch is going to take some drastic step forward with a downgraded roster, at least in terms of experience.

7-5 and a new coaching search.

Can the triple option of Jones, Debord, beat GT's triple option......we'll see. At least we go to Atlanta w/o winning the East.:)

GT-L
Playing in Atlanta, they run their option O very well. Without a major turn around on D our O is going to need to score like 70 points to win. I just don't see it 1st game of the year with a new QB and on the road.

Indiana State-W

UF-L At the swamp, still a new and green QB. It's very hard to win in that lizard pit.

UMass-W

UGA-W At Neyland, and I'm convinced that Smart is their Dooley. They find a way to lose again.

USCe- L On paper we should beat them. But until Butch beats Muschamp I'm putting this one down as a loss.

Bama-L They're the best team in the NCAA. I don't see that changing.

UK-Toss up. Shoop has upgraded that team and it's in Lexington. On the other hand they are Kentucky. To close to call.

Southern Miss- W

Missouri-W They might be the worst team in the SEC

LSU-Toss up. I'm not sold on Ogre as a head coach. They will have the talent edge but it's at Neyland. No idea how to call this one.

Vandy-W looking for revenge at home. Also I still never predict a loss too Vandy.

It's pretty bleak but that's how I see it at the moment.

7-5. UF, UGA, and LSU will all improve while we will probably regress somewhat due to new QB, stars leaving, and a coach that is incapable of winning when it counts.

vs. GT Toss up if we don't get better in every way on D I definitely see Tennessee losing
vs. Indiana St W
@ UF L New QB and on the road. We will see how good Dobbs made this line outside of Jones and Hall
v.s UMass W
vs. UGA L They bring a lot back and will be out for blood
vs. USCjr L until Butch beats Muschamp
@ Bama UGLY, again.
@ UK W
vs. Southern Miss W
@ Mizz Toss up.
vs. LSU L
vs. Vandy Toss up.

7-5 at best
6-6 my pick
5-7 if things get ugly

A lot of wild cards but one things certain Butch will drop one or two he shouldn't
