Our fan base forgets Tennessee has a lot of starters returning, many who earned big increases this past season. That money gets spent first. Then you have $ for transfers. Majority of the offense & several on defense fit that category. Vols didn’t lose many that they were committed to keeping. Ricky Gibson may have been the only one, replaced him with the Auburn guy.We don’t have the money the top teams have. It isn’t rocket science
That's why I start Faiz over Mac. Mac was always a project with his weight. Personally I hope Joey gets good news.I have always thought someones idea of portal success or failure is something that really depends on how you view situations in the program. for instance, if you thought the defense needed a makeover, you probably think Tennessee has been successful in the portal. But, and i think this is the root of all this, if you have faith that macintyre is the answer at QB, you think the portal is going fine, but if you are not sold on the ability of mcintyre to lead this team to the playoffs, you do think the portal has been questionable at best. personally, i think if macintyre is the starter, it sets your program back a couple years, because you probably lose faizon brandon, and i see macintyre as a QB who will spend more time injured than playing. but if you are sold on macintyre, you probably think things are looking great. we will see how it works out
It seems to be over the heads of the many that DW knows the results for UT for pushing the envelope while under probation would be WAY DIFFERENT than our peers in the upper reaches of D1. So he is attempting to get them enforced as written. The courts have complicated the ability to do so, but still needs to be dealt with in the public eye to push for enforcement or elimination of gray areas. Similar to blind eye treatment of the old rules for some.Tennessee is still "on probation" for the Pruitt mess. Danny White has said (and it's not unreasonable to think this way) we're going to abide by the rules.
“Too predictable after the first couple of drives.”I like Hype and hope he continues to improve our team. I think he is a good field coach, all except clock management, but in his past history; afer the recruits he inherited left, he went down. Most all of our really good playerss the past few years were not his recruits. Now they are all his, so lets see how it turns out. I hope very good.
Why of course. They've chosen NOT to tell you and me what their evaluations, strategies, resources, etc are... so the whole program must be dysfunctional. Are we are dysfunctional program with our approach in the NIL era? When it first started seemed we was ahead of the game... But something seems off lately
“Too predictable after the first couple of drives.”
Not my words, the Illinois coaches. Coach Heupel would be wise to take heed. He also needs to drastically improve his clock management and late half / game playcalling.
As I have said many times, I believe Coach Heupel is a top-notch offensive coordinator. He needs to learn how to be a top notch head coach.
This year will tell us a lot.
