Yeah, I don’t think he realizes that he possibly just created a divide in a fan base, where there wasn’t one to begin with.
He may want to walk that one back.
Actually I’m upset with The football side of things, if no one else can receive more NIL because of football taking their huge piece of the pie, then it’s time for them to start earning it on the damn field.
If baseball winning titles isn’t sufficient for anyone, then the football team and women’s basketball team better start getting results.
And I don’t just mean in progress, I mean seriously competing for championships.

No, he shouldn’t be taking time to meet with the lowest tier S&C coach individually, but He should be meeting with staffs, period.
And if the head coach of any sport doesn’t value their staffs enough to garner that, then that’s on the head coaches as well!

I’m just saying he should have at least met him once during the last several years even if it was for a cup of coffee. I would think even more important so for someone who‘s regularly on the list for job openings, and is your #2 guy at a NC winning program. Skip level meetings (especially for top performers) are a very common practice, but I‘m not even suggesting that.

Hope yer wrong on that one. I loved them boys CDS recruited and my boy grew up on AJ, Stewie, Senzel, Maddox, Moberg, etc…

This ain’t that. Not even close. Saving one recruiting class…if not Elander and Frank…start name dropping gents, this is a bad time to go looking!


Seriously, I can’t think of anyone I want more than Elander/Frank…who? Top 10 recruiting, understands changing landscape of college athletics, end of 11.7…all of it.

That was so defensive and inappropriate. It really lessened my confidence in Danny White. Totally came out of LF.

Our CEO at least gives me a call from time to time, to check in and make sure I’m getting the resources I need from the people above me.
He’ll drop into my territory at least once per quarter, for lunch.
It’s not that difficult.

Building relationships with employees (especially the good ones) is a key attribute to success. As well as being approachable as a leader. Being the head of an organization with millions of dollars flowing yearly can change attitude, being grounded as a leader is important. There’s a line in a song that says it’s hard to be humble, maybe our AD needs to remember where he started. After all, too much pride comes with a fall. Sometimes hard lessons have to be learned. Go Vols!

Pretty easy, he shared that call data with Boyd and Plowman and they defined his path in the negotiations. Anybody that thinks they were not highly involved after the LNS improvement plan is nuts. That call may have been our best and final offer.

Begging in a no win situation is not a good look for anybody.

I’m not naive to the fact that their are some good baseball coaches that will probably inquire about this job and I’m not dumb enough to say DW shouldn’t look/listen to everyone of them.
But, I will be very highly disappointed if Josh AND Frank aren’t in that home team dugout, come next spring.

Not really baseball, just life in genreal...

Some of the corporate true believers would be shocked at how much a simple, leaning-on-an-office-door "Hey hows it going? Got everything you need? What do you think?" conversation can go.

Its 5-10min tops every so often. I'm not suggesting a 3 hour coaching session.

We pay consultants hundreds of thousands every year to tell the muckity mucks exactly that. Some learn and are great at it...some do not.

Yesterday, the people the reaction from people that live college baseball were pretty unanimous in their belief that Elander was the "no brainer" replacement....Kyle Petterson, Chris Burke, Arron Fitt, Kendall Rogers.

Danny doesn't have a clue who he is. He should be immediately recruiting him, not inviting him to interview. Dumbass.

My partner and I own 7 car dealerships. The first hour of both of our day is walking though one of our service departments talking to technicians... then on to the showroom to chat with salespeople.

Danny comes out of this ok if he hires Elander whether he wins or not cause that is who the majority of baseball fans want. If he hires someone else they better win big cause it will only double or triple the complaints if he gets someone in here that he hired and they don't win.

Elander is definitely the safe choice for DW. That's who the players and fans want, and if it doesn't work out, no one on earth will blame DW for that hire (other than the ones just upset that TV left in the first place). If he goes for an outside hire and that doesn't work... eek.

Still redneck-pissed about that press conference. Maybe DW just threw up his first airball…or maybe he is an egotistical asshat that ruined a great thing. Even is there’s nothing that could’ve stopped Tony V from taking that job, you don’t make that presser about anything other than flowers for TV/staff/players and what the plan is going forward. He wants those of us who have spent a small fortune on UT athletics to “text and friend” when we have legit gripes, yet he stands his smug a** at that podium and whines and complains about rumors and apologies during TONY EFFING VITELLO’s goodbye PC? GTFO here with that, DW…
