Yes, that was it. We looked at the outside in daylight (in the 36° daylight), and you can see the original framing of the window header over the 2x whatsit’s supports. (As old as this house is, I don’t know what the lumber dimensions were back then.)

At any rate, the pros are done, and it is now down to the clueless homeowners to start painting. Next week. Maybe.

I finally have my door from the bedroom to the deck. Please don’t look closely.

That header is begging to have some sort scroll work attached to it. That looks dam nice!

Thanks! It was a nice solution to filling in the gap below the real header (where the windows used to be) and the top of the doors. A lot easier than a fan light, anyway. I’m looking for some metal enamelware. Or enamel metalware. Not sure which it is.

glad you liked the running shoes (ahem @82_VOL_83). And we’ve been through the shoe game long enough that you didn’t have to remind me 😂😂

But Behr has mentioned having a pair of their slides or flip flops. Apparently he didn’t know they also made shoes
