What is it with the South Carolina fans who've found their way to VolNation lately? The vast majority of them seem to preach this exact same brand of pathetic homerism. For a football program that's contributed less to the SEC than Vanderbilt, USCe's fans would have you believe that they're the envy of the conference.

When South Carolina is "on par" with Tennessee, our head coach won't get fired after losing to the Cocks.

From what I hear he knew he was gone before the USCe game. They just did not want to give Bama the satisfaction of knowing their game did him in.

That is false for more than a couple of reasons. At best he would have been a fourth or fifth option.

Tenn, much like USCe has to recruit outside our state well to compete. Recruiting is simply not a thing he does well. That is why we looked for an energetic, young coach. Both of those things Spurrier is not.

It all depends on who you ask, much like anything to do with the media. I love it when a bunch of writers who never played the game think they know what is best for a university. Bottom line is many of those who think it was a bad hire believe Fulmer should have kept his job. What does that say about their credibility?

go duce, way to be a man and call out reeves in person. You UT fans act like us USC fans loved reeves and adored him when he was at USC. While we liked him and though he was a decent coach and recruiter, we never boasted about him or anything. When he left, we were a little dissapointed for recruiting reasons, but by no means did we wimper and complain about how he was a huge loss from the coaching staff. Now you UT fans critisize us for being pissed off at reeves all of a sudden. However, who wouldn't be mad at a coach who was thought to be loyal and then tried to steal recruits who had no interest in UT and tell high school players that "Spurrier was leaving after next year" and that USC was "a dump and not a place to want to play". While I do admit that the USC campus is a dump, (Reeves only having a job and a good reputation because of Spurrier) as a former coach at USC, it is just wrong to go tell the same recruits that you were persuading to come to USC, to now switch and come to UT, when they had no interest whatsoever, and to tell them in a manner such as reeves did (saying crap about spurrier behind his back and putting down the university that kept you employed for 7 years. Its called dignity and respect and David Reaves had better learn what it means or else he will be out of his job soon and will be dealing drugs with his addict father down in Florida. By the way, I would love to see that happen to Reeves as much as he screwed over the university as much as he did. Sorry for the wordiness, and I know I will get crap about this post as much as you UT fans adore David Reeves, but you would be pissed off if one of your coaches did this too.

It sure looks like his recruiting tactics are working out pretty well so far, a good amount of decommitments in the last week, and how many highly rated commitments, 1, maybe? Reeves must have been a great quarterback coach too, just look at how smelly and mitchell developed over the past couple of years (sarcasm). Good luck with reeves, you can have him, I just don't know how reeves will coach up crompton and stephens, anyone will admit they are godawful. For once in my life I can say UT sucks and actually be correct.

USC goes 7-5 and they'll build a statue of you at their fairground stadium, UT goes 7-5 and the coach's job is in jeopardy.
