Dual position player on both sides of the ball

Was watching Colorado’s Travis Hunter play both offense and defense in the same game, and wondered if Tennessee ever had a player that did this? Or if they have a current player that would excel in this scenario?
Boo Carter. Get that man the ball

For the most part you’re right, but Champ Bailey had games where he played 100 snaps. His Senior year in particular, he had a bunch of receptions while starting at CB and returning kicks.

Hunter literally plays full time every game on both sides and plays some special teams. Hes done so for 3 years. That's massively different from doing it every once in a while if needed. Secondly Champ and all these other guys were gadget play guys. Travis Hunter is a top 5 player in the country at both positions. There are going to have to be serious discussions after todays game by the Awards committees on if a player can be all american on both sides of the ball.

And he is clowning at the right time. His numbers at WR were good but not crazy so he goes for 3tds and 116yds just to see that up. Also gets a pick on the third play of the game triggering the boatrace. CU has been the team officially brought to you by the letters FAFO

He is a finalist for all these..also never happened.
Best WR
Best defensive player
Best player
Best offensive player
Heisman
and for some reason he didnt make the list for the thorpe award even though hes up for best defensive player and DB is his best position. I think Jeanty locked down the heisman today but Hunter wants all the rest of the hardware.
Hunter is probably the best 2-way player of all time. But, the 2-way player I respect most is Hines Ward. Ward played DB, WR, RB and QB. He would have gotten my vote for the Heisman his Sr. year, if I had a vote.

Boo Carter was supposed to play both sides but punt returns may keep him away from offense. I still think they should find ways to play him on offense.
The coaching staff will not play 5* freshman WRs enough to make a difference even when our starters can't catch or get open. So no chance Boo plays on offense

We’ve had a ton of players. Alonte and Bryce were both true freshman who Pruitt started at CB. They were offensive weapons we just had ZERO depth at the position

Eric Berry took some offensive snaps.
Recall being in vandie stadium (landfill) when Eric took those "wildcat" snaps on offense. Predominantly Tennessee crowd chanting "ER-IC BER-RY"! It was glorious.

Didn't coach Cut call him Chump Bailey?

Boo Carter is the only player on the roster who could pull it off and excel on both sides. Hopefully we see him some on offense before he leaves for the NFL.

I was just telling a friend earlier, he’s such a pure athlete I’d love to see them figure out a package to get him in on offense.
