Travis Hunter plays 70 snaps per game. Wonder how that's so. Guess his pro career is burnt
I learned that in the D. BISHOP thread.
He has next level athleticism. That being said, he doesn’t exactly run block on offense and I can’t remember the last time he tackled a running back that didn’t make it to the 2nd level.

The better of the Berry twins should have played both ways. Eric could have as well. Dale Carter should have gotten a shot at it as well IMO.
Dale Carter could have did it some no doubt. Carl really helped us when we were short in the secondary and did a nice job. But one funny thing about that, one day reporters ask Dale Carter how Pickens was helping out. Dale said yeah and smiled, and then said but Carl don’t want to hit nobody.😆🤣GBO!

Boo Carter is the only player on the roster who could pull it off and excel on both sides. Hopefully we see him some on offense before he leaves for the NFL.
He’s had some good punt returns - really good instincts as an open field runner.

AJ Johnson ran some wildcat for Dooley. The freshman LB from SC (forgot his name) ran some fullback for Peanut Brain

will he play against Vandy? I saw that he wasn’t on injuries list.

I’d like to see if Bishop can still get 1,000 on the season…

Yea Hunter is just a football player. The dude routinely goes for 100 yards receiving while shutting down 1 side of the field on defense. He catches a TD and grabs an Int in the same game on a regular basis.
4 times this season he’s done that in the same game.
Very impressive.

I would love if Travis Hunter played for UT

Business decision. We had AFC offensive and defensive rookies of year on the same team

For the most part you’re right, but Champ Bailey had games where he played 100 snaps. His Senior year in particular, he had a bunch of receptions while starting at CB and returning kicks.
Hunter literally plays full time every game on both sides and plays some special teams. Hes done so for 3 years. That's massively different from doing it every once in a while if needed. Secondly Champ and all these other guys were gadget play guys. Travis Hunter is a top 5 player in the country at both positions. There are going to have to be serious discussions after todays game by the Awards committees on if a player can be all american on both sides of the ball.

And he is clowning at the right time. His numbers at WR were good but not crazy so he goes for 3tds and 116yds just to see that up. Also gets a pick on the third play of the game triggering the boatrace. CU has been the team officially brought to you by the letters FAFO

He is a finalist for all these..also never happened.
Best WR
Best defensive player
Best player
Best offensive player
Heisman
and for some reason he didnt make the list for the thorpe award even though hes up for best defensive player and DB is his best position. I think Jeanty locked down the heisman today but Hunter wants all the rest of the hardware.

Before anyone comes in and tries it nope oklahoma state like a lot of other teams that were ranked preseason, hasn't been a good team. But no one has lain a whipping on them like that all year. They have scored double digits every game and the only other time they gave up 50 they scored 48 themselves.

No player in modern football has ever done it. Back in the day when helmets were leather and most players played both sides is the closest. Someone will bring up Charles Woodson or Champ Bailey or Carl Pickens even Deion Sanders. Those people would be wrong. All of those guys started on one side of the ball and played a package theyd play in on the other side. Hell if you wanna go wild with it JJ played both sides of the ball. AJ Johnson.

Travis Hunter is the best player at his position on both sides of the ball and has other NFL talents at his position on both sides of the ball. Thats never been seen period.
I can always tell when you’re wrong, because you’re always wrong.

Was watching Colorado’s Travis Hunter play both offense and defense in the same game, and wondered if Tennessee ever had a player that did this? Or if they have a current player that would excel in this scenario?
He does, and does it well, makes me wonder many times when we hear the defense is getting tired, what kind of conditioning they have. He is playing both sides of the ball and never seems to tire.

Didn't Ron Green play both OL and DL?
I think he did start on OL but then switched to D. But I may be wrong that was a while back. Not sure if he ever did both in same game it same year. Green was a very solid player he had some massive thighs, wide bodied big boned guy.He was tough. GBO

Who in modern football has played both sides? I don't mean for just a special play, but actually playing like a starter on both sides? I am no saying I don't believe you, I just couldn't think of anyone.

I remember Derrick Tinsley playing both sides in the 2000’s. I agree about not seeing many these days. Not worth the injuries

Well Champ was Georgia’s leading receiver in his final season. But Hunter is obviously on a different level.
