DT Patrick Harris is the newest commitment

I wonder if going the juco route means that we are not doing well with prep players?

It seems to me that JUCO kids are less likely to be sign and place....didn't CEO go after more JUCO recruits than prep recruits while covered by Feldman for Meat Market?

So does he deny the "verbal pledge" quote then, or what does he mean by that I wonder? A soft verbal really isn't a commitment in my book...so I thought that might be where he is...

Ask Scout, seems like they took the interview as to say he committed when it doesn't seem now that was his intentions at all.

I can understand how it happened, though....to say "verbal pledge" followed by "excited to play for Tennessee" would make on think you committed. I guess you can make all kinds of verbal pledges to a staff. "I pledge to take your phone calls." "I pledge to consider you." "I pledge to drink as much redbull as you want me to."

I will g8terh8ter eric...leave out Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Utah to meet your agenda? Keep on keeping on, sport.

No - just pointing out the obvious - that those 2 teams are not in our perceived peer group. Heard of sarcasm, sport? Guess not.

Also, according to scout, none of those teams have offered him.

I will put my faith in the man who drinks Red Bull by the gallon, and dips coffee grounds.

Looks like we're just gonna focus on winning games by playing good defense, running the football, and having a serviceable Matt Mauck type QB.

What? That makes no sense. What makes you think Kiffin is only trying to recruit serviceable QBs? He's going to try to get in as many top notch QBs as possible at the QB position if he can - just like at USC.

LOL...yeah, I got your unlying message. I also have read some of your other posts and 'thought' I had an idea of what you were getting at. My bad..........:eek:k:

Harris told Volquest last night that he hasn't even been offered. I don't know where this story started.

Ed Orgeron noted as one of the best defensive line coaches in the country picked up another defensive lineman commitment when Patrick Harris of Chabot Junior College made his decision.

“Yes I made a verbal pledge to Tennessee,” Harris told InsideTennessee.com recently. “I’m very excited about playing for the Volunteers. They have assembled a great coaching staff and they have the program headed in the right direction.”

Harris, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound defensive tackle, is expected to contribute early for the Vols.

“They are telling me that they need me to come in right away to help out on the defensive front,” Harris said. “I really like Coach Orgeron a lot; he is one of the best in the business.”

Harris played defensive tackle for Chabot in 2008 and he said the quickness he has for a man his size and his motor are what set him apart.

"I'm strong and I'm quick," Harris said. "The coaches said they like my motor and how I'm always going and I never quit."

Harris hasn't maxed out on any of his lifts recently, but he did manage to post a hand-timed 4.9 40 time at 295 recently.
