Agents can talk to head hunters. There is a connection with Pruitt and Sark and Sark has made it clear he wanted back in the college game. That Sark knew that Sark was fired with 3-4 games to play?
Interviewing while trying to make the playoffs? It would have been a major violation of his contract with Falcons.
If that path is correct, then we don't want Sark, Pruitt, and whomever told Doug.
Or just let them...same effect either way.Mathews wasn’t the only one blindsided by Butch Jones coaching impotence. As for recruiting, on paper these guys looked good.
What bothers me about the OC search is that folks are connecting dots to equate this to the same thing as the Schiano cluster “you know what”. Currie, Davenport and all the others in charge are gone. To just assume it’s on that scale is ridiculous. It might end up like that, but at this stage, it’s not. Don’t judge until the chips fall where they may.
He also was the ONLY guy consistently advocating that Tennessee extend Jones prior to the 0-8 2017 season....despite the fact that Lyle had 3 years remaining on his contract. Doug has definitely lost his fastball. It won’t matter who is hired. Matthews can say “See, I told you it was almost finished. _______ was the guy all along I just couldn’t say his name.”
DM is the same guy that talked up Butch’s last class and how good we looked in spring and fall camps. 0-8 SEC thanks for the inside info.
If I have learned anything as a member of VN, it's that your post is 100% correct, but since we haven't heard about any more interviews being conducted or prospective candidates being contacted in the last two weeks (those always leak), I tend to think that an offer has been made and accepted, and for whatever reason, the announcement has had to wait. Still, to go 5 weeks at this time of the year without a coordinator is not normal.None of these so called insiders know anything. We’ll
Know who it is when they announce it at a press conference

I remember the Sports Illustrated write up on Osovet being a "rising star" when Pruitt hired him. If he is the choice though, I don't understand why they wouldn't just go ahead and announce it. A perception is growing that nobody wants the job, and that is not a good look.I’m starting too think Osovet will be the new OC which is why the supposed “insiders” know absolutely nothing.
How do you intend to do that when he never gave a name or a timetable?Waiting to put to rest or give insider accolades to Doug. View attachment 186431
If that’s the case either two things are going on. A. Pruitt and Fulmer keep getting told “no not interested” or B. The admin keeps saying no to guys they wanna interview... maybe Pruitt will make himself the OC maybe that’s why all this time and no word no prospects or nothing...If there is no hire by this weekend then we can all be assured it’s because we can’t get anyone worth a darn. Top choices will be going fast, and even second and third choices will be all off the table in a couple weeks. Other teams sure aren’t gonna sit on their butts waiting to hire their coaches like Pruitt and Co seem to be.
