Doubled barrel g-gun

It's a triple option play as of right now. That's pretty much a trick play in my book here at UT and in the SEC, but to each his own AV.

Triple option?

So he can either hand it off, run it, or pass it if that is called for? Kind of like some things Tebow and UF or Arky did last year? That is tricky for the SEC?

We need Ronnie Brown to make the G-Gun work at UT.

It's complicated to design an offensive scheme without an O-line that blocks. Those guys are really giving us a good look at new OC's skills.

Single wing (spread) could work if we have enough speed. This may be why CUM says... speed, speed, speed.

I thought berry has 8 int's?
But I do agree, he isnt someone we can afford to be injured.

I like the g-gun at times, but last week when Stephens was effective in moving the offense down the field, I didn't agree with running the g-gun when they did. If what you are doing is working and your QB is managing the offense and making things happen, why change it?
I agree 100% they seem to call for the G-Gun at the wrong times.
I would like to see what Berry can do on offense though. :clapping:

I'd like to get all the pages of the playbooks that have the G-Gun on them and gather them all together for a bonfire.

Based on the number of variations we've seen, that would be a small flame.

If they are gonna run the G-Gun, then they need to do it for an entire drive. Get some rhythm to the offense for an entire drive. Then they could do different things with it. It's too predictable and we don't need to be predictable.

He runs right and left. They could, at least, add a counter step. Or, better yet, the now infamous, 'jump pass.'

Agreed.

If you want to see innovative, you should see what I've just put the finishing touches on. I have no intention of actually letting it see the light of day until I'm in full unchallenged control of an offense. It's not even going to be seen in pieces.

Understand a large part of my offensive skill is derived from my paranoia. I'm not satisfied with a particular play unless I can see how it would be possible to hammer basically every type of defense and blitz known to man. And when I can visualize this entire playbook on the field, it gives me wood.

They need to add a pass. That would make it better, we all know it's an option but still.

He threw that one pass to Lucas Taylor, I think, back when JC was the QB. Of course, it had been a long time since a catchable pass had been thrown, so although it was the called play, the ball seemed to catch Taylor by total surprise as it slid between his hands and struck him in the facemask.

Gerald is not a bad QB at all from the film I have seen of him throwing the ball. Problem is, Phil is too conservative to let Jones to more.

I don't need Viagra, in spite of what my inbox says. I have a hot enough wife with a huge rack, and also my stack of playbooks.

The last NC we won, was when we had a versatile QB on the field in Tee Martin. Yet for some reason CPF feels it necessary to go after NFL style QB's. Go back and look at all the great college QB's who never made it in the NFL, and all the NFL greats who didn't have very hot college careers.

We need a west coast style offense, with option play from a QB who can run, and who can throw short passes. Its a proven college style of play, and CPF's run it down their throat mentality has long been ineffective.

I was basing that off of his Rivals video. I'm not saying he is a D1 QB, but if he can throw it in that formation then he should be given the opportunity too.

Don't see it happening too much more. He's had two opportunities, neither of which were very good.

That's not even close to true. We haven't had a decent run blocking offensive line since 04 to even attempt to "run it down their throats". Remember Riggs/Houston, that was a pretty good year running the ball.

We've had offenses much more dominant than the one Tee Martin directed. Plenty of teams have had a great deal of success in college with a dropback QB.

He's attempted 2 passes in games since his Senior year in high school. Not quit the percentage to base an accurate opinion on.
