On one hand you say Dobbs made an NFL throw against their defense. Then you say they have a glorified high school defense.
I agree, Dobbs is eyeballing the receiver he is going to throw to, which of course, sucks. I dont know if it is him having a hard time slowing down the game in his head or what (considering what he has dealt with). At this point I wouldnt mind a 2 QB system, honestly.
I dont know enough about 2 QB systems, but what is volnations take on that?
You came to this conclusion by watching Dormady play 3-4 series against a FCS team, that isn't even a top FCS team? Brady couldn't throw it successfully if he had out OL and the same WRs that can't get off jams and into their routes. He's good no doubt. He'll get mop up time cause he's good. That's it.
They suck...and so do the teams that use them. :stop:
They do. Their first team is still better than their second and third team d Dormady faced. It doesn't change the fact Dobbs made a throw that his detractors said he couldn't make.
I get what you are saying and I'm not suggesting he's ready to start and I see no reason to move away from Dobbs. However, it is very apparent to me that Dormady is a better passer than Dobbs. He goes through his progression and throws a better deep ball. The future looks bright to me whenever Dormady gets the nod.
I haven't seen it. None of his passes looked better than the throws Dobbs made against their first team d. He threw several pretty deep balls because he actually had time and they held on to a couple. Its easy to go through progressions with all day to throw against a FCS third team d. Dormady hasn't shown he can do anything but make a couple of good throws versus a high school team.
I agree. If you say anything other than Dobbs is the best since Peyton around here then you are a negavol of sorts.
I said during the off season I believe Dobbs is our answer for now, but not long time due to my concerns with his passing game. I also said I was excited about QD. At the time I was blasted.
Either you are for something or against something around here. No in between.
The problem is that if you put a player in a role, and expect a different role from that player later on, it's hard for said player to respond in a different way from what they were initially expected to be.
Your always so angry. Dormadys arm stregnth and touch is better than Dobbs, but Dobbs has him in the experience department. That being said it almost looks like Dobbs is second guessing his reads this year instead of just throwing it like he did last year. Seems like he's playing nervous compared to last year. I hope he gets the ball out quick versus florida, or we may see Dormadys come in due to injury.
Yep. It doesn't matter who the defense is when it comes to going through your progression. This terrible defense had his two primary receivers covered on his first pass, so he went to the third receiver and completed it. Then he drops a dime to a receiver that was covered and finally he scrambles, keeps his eyes downfield and throws a TD. Yes, he wasn't playing an SEC team, but in each of those scenarios I just mentioned he demonstrated the tools that make a great QB.You came to this conclusion by watching Dormady play 3-4 series against a FCS team

You know what's funny, you are basing your entire argument on the perceived notion that Dobbs went against the first team D and QD was against the third team. Just for fun, I looked at the D on QD's first two series and saw at least 10 of the same players that were in the game against Dobbs. Therefore, the facts are they played against the same defense. You might want to get your facts straight. :rock:I haven't seen it. None of his passes looked better than the throws Dobbs made against their first team d. Interesting how saying something positive about one player equates to bashing another around here. Saying Dormady is very good with a lot of potential and will push Dobbs does not equate to saying Dobbs sucks.
The bottom line is which one can get the job done the best.
It's WCU. An FCS team. It's not really hard to look good. Talk to me when he sees 1st team defenses from UF, Bama, UGa, etc. Plus, the defense he was facing was a vanilla, base defense. He's good, but I'm waiting until he gets in against better competition.
