Dormady's playing time.

Dormady has me excited. Like, real excited.

It's WCU. An FCS team. It's not really hard to look good. Talk to me when he sees 1st team defenses from UF, Bama, UGa, etc. Plus, the defense he was facing was a vanilla, base defense. He's good, but I'm waiting until he gets in against better competition.

Lets back Dobbs, he is the captain of this football team but...every team needs a co-pilot to take the controls and fly the plane. Q will be the co-pilot...bring him in when Dobbs is struggling.

Regardless of the competition, it takes skill to go to your third receiver (which he did on the first pass) and drop in a dime way down the field. He's going to be a star for us. The question is when?

I like having a back-up that atleast doesnt look like he is going to poop his pants under pressure, but to think Dormady is going to look elite against a defensive talent aka..Florida, your highly mistaken.

Dobbs problem is that he had to run for his life ever since his first in game snap. He had to grow up along a terrible O-Line (as a non starting player). This O-line still doesnt look very good at all. I want a slinger just as much as the next fan, but slow your roll with expecting anyone to come out and light it up with the pass protection we have currently.

What I noticed immediately was how QD went through his progression. Dobbs seems to lock in on one receiver - even when he has time in the pocket. Granted I was 39 rows up, but that's how it looked to me tonight.

I agree, Dobbs is eyeballing the receiver he is going to throw to, which of course, sucks. I dont know if it is him having a hard time slowing down the game in his head or what (considering what he has dealt with). At this point I wouldnt mind a 2 QB system, honestly.

I dont know enough about 2 QB systems, but what is volnations take on that?

Quickest way to a 7 win season. Dormady is not the answer that some think.

I say put the qb in that's making plays. I don't mind a 2 qb system. We probably would've won with Dobbs in there last year against Fla because he was a run threat. I know we didn't want to burn his redshirt but guess what we did anyway. It gives us two qb with a lot of experience. However given this staff stubbornness to change or try something different I don't see it happening.

Bring in Dobbs for run plays and dormady for pass plays. Or mix it up and keep the defense guessing.

It would have been nice to see Dormady throw more in the 4th when the game was well out of hand. I get controlling the clock but he should have been allowed to throw more.

Anybody that thinks Dormady should start or rotate with Dobbs based on this is an idiot. Dobbs threw great passes against their first team d. The first td to Williams was a back shoulder fade NFL throw.

Nah man..the only thing Dormady has up on Dobbs (as of now) is that he (Dormady) doesnt (yet) have the fight or flight mentality that Dobbs is accustomed to.

That is an intriguing part of this season for me. To see how the QB performs with little help from the rest of the offensive group. I see flashes of greatness in this team. I just cant wait to see it all come into place!!

LOL, that's as dumb as people saying he is the answer. There is just simply not enough playing time to say either way yet. However, nobody can deny he makes great throws and goes through his progressions.

He looked good. Let's see a pass against real teams though, not a glorified high school.

Sure thing coach. So please explain how you know rotating QD in with Dobbs wouldnt work. What if it did?

Because we have a qb that has more experience and talent starting.

How would substituting a less mobile, less experienced qb help us? Dobbs looked great when he had time to throw and they caught the ball.

Dormady won't fix the line or the drops.

I get what you are saying and I'm not suggesting he's ready to start and I see no reason to move away from Dobbs. However, it is very apparent to me that Dormady is a better passer than Dobbs. He goes through his progression and throws a better deep ball. The future looks bright to me whenever Dormady gets the nod.

I haven't seen it. None of his passes looked better than the throws Dobbs made against their first team d. He threw several pretty deep balls because he actually had time and they held on to a couple. Its easy to go through progressions with all day to throw against a FCS third team d. Dormady hasn't shown he can do anything but make a couple of good throws versus a high school team.

You came to this conclusion by watching Dormady play 3-4 series against a FCS team, that isn't even a top FCS team? Brady couldn't throw it successfully if he had out OL and the same WRs that can't get off jams and into their routes. He's good no doubt. He'll get mop up time cause he's good. That's it.
