1. You misrepresented what I said. I clearly stated that Dobbs is the starter because he has been in the system AND has the valuable experience that only comes with playing in games....he's an upper-classman.
2. You contradicted yourself. " Dormady and Dobbs times are on par and Dormady is bigger than Dobbs as a freshman" and " QD is a fine athlete but not on par with Dobbs as of now " don't jive. I'm guessing you've never watched QD's Senior Hudl highlights. You likely would not assert this.
3. The rest of your assertions are as baseless as someone saying Dormady will take Dobbs job by mid-season. Neither of you have any way to ground that statement in anything factual....especially the assertion that he will transfer.
And....for the record, you may not have, but several here have asserted that he is not suited for this offense because of....well, we know what they meant.
1. Dobbs is the starter because he is better and nothing else.
2. Dobbs and Dormady's times are on par as freshmen, but Dormady came in bigger than Dobbs, But Dormady isn't on par with Dobbs right now by any means. QD's Senior Hudl highlights was against high school competition and this is the SEC so yes my assertion was correct.
3. Dormady will not uproot a player who is far better suited for the offense right now (nothing to so with speed or race). In trhis thread I never said he would transfer I said he will play here or somewhere else if he doesn't get a shot here (that is a fair assumption considering he is a talented QB).
And to your last statement I said "no one in this thread has said that he isn't suited for this offense" I can't speak outside of this thread as to what people are saying.
So I don't feel any of my assertions were out of line, just because I didn't agree with you doesn't qualify me as wrong. Go Vols!!!
No, reported times are 4.8 to 4.9. But hey man, you win. Could care less. My point is dormady is not fast.
1. Baseless assertion #2. "Better" is a subjective statement leaving many variables. We don't know, if all things were equal....for example: time on campus, in the system, game experience who would be better. We all have our opinions, but don't know. What we do know is Dobbs is an upperclassman, having been on campus 2 years and started multiple games, with varying success.....which was my point.
2. Your logic defies....well....logic. Do you have information that Dobbs is significantly faster or quicker now than when he arrived? Do have information that Dormady is not? Was the Hudl film for either QB not relevant when comparing them to other recruits, or is it only not relevant now. It's a sliding scale to be sure, but Dormady's speed relative to his competition in High School is indicative of potential.
3. Why is Dobbs " far better suited for this offense right now", outside of being an upperclassman who has 2 years on campus? What do you think you know about this offense that the coaches don't. They seem perfectly comfortable with the idea of QD as their QB....since they recruited him, raved about him, and have now made him the backup.
You can not compare a Junior to a freshman in the sense of better for this offense there is no comparison between Dormady and Dobbs. Dobbs has the "IT" factor and we don't know that Dormady doesn't have it but we do know that he will not get a real shot to see if the does unless Dobbs gets hurt. Butch Jones will not allow a QB contraversy unless he truely believes that Dormady will beat him out. Not gonna happen in the first year he has a clear cut starting QB, he nees the stability of Dobbs at the position to lead this team. We are delusional or daydreaming if you think otherwise.
So yes Dormady has been named backup but so was Nathan Peterman last year, and to your so called logic Nathan Peterman would be ahead of Dormady if he was still here because of time in the system and being an upperclassman.
I was never comparing the Hudl films of Dobbs and Dormady, you stated that his Hudl film showed that he was on par with Dobbs. Dobbs played against the meat of our schedule the past two years and didn'y do that bad. 2 of the best defenses we faced last year mizz and bama. So no i don't believe that Dormady's Hudl film shows me that he is ready to face SEC defenses the way Dobbs has for 2 years.
To even compare Dormady as a freshman to Dobbs now is ridiculous they are not on the same page at all. Our offense wouldn't be as successful with Dormady under center this year as it will be with Dobbs. The best part about it is we will never know because if Dobbs is half as successful as all the people are saying he can be then Dormady will be the backup QB for 2 years and then battle it out with S. Jones and Guarantino (Spelling?) in 2017, and yes I believe that if he doens't win the starting job he will transfer, its not crazy its common sense.
Dormady is a good athlete, the problem is we are recruiting a lot of good athletes especially at QB. The reality is he may never start at QB here just based on the number of players he will be competing against. I wish him well and hope he has a stellar career here, if not I wish him well elsewhere.
But to say he is on par with Dobbs right now is not being realistic. If he was there would have been a QB competition this fall, and there wasn't there was a starting QB and everyone else. There is no competition for playing time, there just isn't.

Let me have a 4.7 db on a 4.63 wr. You tell me whose slow. This is stupid that you guys say 4.7 is fast. Our d ends run 4.5 to 4.6.

I want to get your opinions on this. I think there is a possibility that Dormady gets thrown into some games. I am talking a couple of series a game. He is fast and could bring a different element to our offense. He is more of a deep ball thrower and tends to run downhill more than Dobbs. This is absolutely not a knock on Dobbs. I think Dobbs will have a good season. Dormady just may be too good to stay off the field. Go Vols!
Nope...but Jerry Rice also ran a 4.7.. And if TO ran a 4.4 at age 38, bully for him (never heard that tho). But out of UTC? At the combine? He ran a 4.7.

You are wrong but I doubt you really care . Got a link or anything to verify TO's 4.7? That's what I thought.
