His upcoming decision regarding the OC.
-He will either make a move with another OC, or he won't.
-He will either have the current OC revamp the offense, or he won't.
This offseason is huge for the University of Tn program and for Dooley's long/short term tenure. A very important offseason.
And I think he knows it. If he is serious about this program he will go in and trim the fat. Thing that concerns me is that he went ahead and called these plays. I mean, doesn't he have some say in whether they are executed? If he had a problem with Cheney's play calling, wouldn't he have said, "let's try something else?"
The only thing that concerns me (keep in mind, I'm all for Chaney moving on, I dislike his playcalling), is that the players would have to relearn a new system. And with this young team, I'm not sure how much that would benefit us.

I wonder who the candidates even are.
I really don't think that he can get any OC worth spit to come here and work for him under the present circumstances. If he's forced to hire someone else, he'll have to do the same thing Hamilton did and dig blindly into a sack of unknown names and pray to the Father above that he draws a good one. I wish Hart would fire Dooley before the sun rises on the morrow, but if that's not to be thenI think the man should be permitted to have the staff that he wants for however much longer he's here. It's his ass on the line so let him bet his chips however he sees fit.
I think the issue has more to do with getting one season to make those guys gel as a unit and win some big games. There's going to be alot of new head coaches looking for coordinators and many of those guys will be able to offer multi-year guarantees. Maybe Dooley can find a diamond in the rough but my guess is that he'd rather stay the course if he's left to his own devices.Bray, Hunter, Rogers, Rivera, Lane, and the incoming class along with 6 linemen that are about to turn, or just turned, 20, is a great circumstance to come into.
