His upcoming decision regarding the OC.
-He will either make a move with another OC, or he won't.
-He will either have the current OC revamp the offense, or he won't.

This offseason is huge for the University of Tn program and for Dooley's long/short term tenure. A very important offseason.

Welcome to 2007. Just change the name Dooley to Fulmer

And I think he knows it. If he is serious about this program he will go in and trim the fat. Thing that concerns me is that he went ahead and called these plays. I mean, doesn't he have some say in whether they are executed? If he had a problem with Cheney's play calling, wouldn't he have said, "let's try something else?"

The only thing that concerns me (keep in mind, I'm all for Chaney moving on, I dislike his playcalling), is that the players would have to relearn a new system. And with this young team, I'm not sure how much that would benefit us.

I really don't think that he can get any OC worth spit to come here and work for him under the present circumstances. If he's forced to hire someone else, he'll have to do the same thing Hamilton did and dig blindly into a sack of unknown names and pray to the Father above that he draws a good one. I wish Hart would fire Dooley before the sun rises on the morrow, but if that's not to be thenI think the man should be permitted to have the staff that he wants for however much longer he's here. It's his ass on the line so let him bet his chips however he sees fit.

I don't think it would totally handicap us. It doesn't take much to have Hunter and Rogers be great coming off the bus every single game. WRs position coach is excellent, and Bray, despite his performance Saturday, can sling it in a new system just as well.

Talent can do fine in a new system. Plain and simple. And we have it.

Here we go with the young thing again.......

I'm just saying checkers, that they've just now settled into this system, and learned it, that to throw another at them might now work. Didn't help us in the Cutcliffe/Clawson/Chaney trilogy.

Yeah, but think of it this way: you have your young players go ahead and learn something new off the bat, or continue with the same schtick on the young players to just reinforce what's been going on all year.

I wonder who the candidates even are.

Does he make the move or try to make a stubborn, older, more experienced man revamp his thought process?
I'm looking forward to finding out what the decision is. If the decision is to keep things the way they are and just execute better, I'll question Dooley's ability to make good decisions within his staff, and his ability to manage and lead.
I don't think that will happen. It can't happen, or he's gone, and he knows it. Not changing anything increases the risk that he won't make it.

What great offensive coordinator is going to come coach for someone who has no guarantees past 2012? You guys are ridiculous to think otherwise.

Bray, Hunter, Rogers, Rivera, Lane, and the incoming class along with 6 linemen that are about to turn, or just turned, 20, is a great circumstance to come into.

I think the issue has more to do with getting one season to make those guys gel as a unit and win some big games. There's going to be alot of new head coaches looking for coordinators and many of those guys will be able to offer multi-year guarantees. Maybe Dooley can find a diamond in the rough but my guess is that he'd rather stay the course if he's left to his own devices.

I don't see Dooley firing Chaney. I think he will hire a new OL coach and Special Teams/RB coach.
