Dooley's buyout

So that makes it right? If you bought the tickets, why not show up? Sounds like money management issues to me. If you are going to pony up for some season tickets, go to the damn game if you can go.

I am a season basketball ticket holder, I will go to every game no matter the outcomes. People just need to quit their belly aching and support this team, or just cheer for another. It is pretty plain and simple. It has been 1.5 years, not 2 or 3 or 4, 1.5. Why is it so hard to realize that?

NO EXCUSE for ZERO 2nd half points, poor coaching somewhere.

They have a history of doing that. It's always been that way until Kiffin. After that they went back to trying to find that diamond in the rough.

Even the Kiffin hire was shaky. His daddy sold that deal, that and promise of a allstar staff.

I just wish they had waited. I don't care that they would have lost a recruit or two. Just wouldn't have mattered in the long run.

The buyout protects both parties unless Dooley doesn't hold up his end. We won't know until next year one way or the other. I myself would have been fine with naming Kippy interim, but that's just me.

I agree with you 100%...I did not like the kiffin hire from the beginning...Could not figure out why they wanted a guy with only 5 wins to coach UT but then I hear his dad is coming and Ed O and that got me a little excited....But yeah it was a diamond in the rough hire.

Now we are just a northern version of Louisiana Tech football.

They won't. They are all Alabama fans that live in Nashville.

by "haters" i presume you mean anybody who doesn't buy the idea that a lifetime sub .500 coach from the bush leagues is suddenly going to become a winner in the sec. count me in. just as walmart or microsoft aren't hiring their ceo's from kelly services, the university of tennessee shouldn't be turning over its storied program to a coach with only one unimpressive winning season (8-4)in his resume. it would take a bona fide idiot to do that (see mike hamilton). here it is nearly two seasons in and the only improvement is in the quantity of the excuses. as for being a bama fan who wants rid of dooley, rest assured, the real bama fans would be tickled if we signed this stiff to a lifetime contract.

Lol, thanks for the lesson.

I know how contracts work, including those involving BCS schools and coaches. The buyout was too strong given the lack of resume.

I agree about being too strong, but given the situation it was fair and the only option we had at the moment. We got a bonus in the fact that Dooley fielded a decent staff, we have great facilities like the Complex and Dooley pulled our fat out of the fire with the NCAA from the aspect he knows the rules. It is hard to rebuild and he was the only one capable of doing in full view.......

A lot of us need to look at the purpose of Dooley being here. It may not be to bring in a NC but to restore the mess legally. Kiffin would have had us on probation if not with the NCAA but with the SEC....

Sounded to me like he was going just everyone else in his row in section Q wasnt. He's talking about not buying tickets next year .

Yeah because there would've been a total of 0 coaches that would've jumped at that knowing the mess Tennessee was in. Good call.

There were FCS coaches with championships and PROVEN records that wouldve loved to have come here similar to Bruce Pearl in 2005. We took a coach out of the WAC with a LOSING record and no proven history as a head coach. I bet we couldve got a FCS coach for alot less money and less than 1 million buyout. Meanwhile Dooley is still "watering bamboo." :loco::no:

Dooley's buyout2012 - $5 mil
2013 - $4 mil
2014 - $4 mil
2015 - $2.5 mil

My season tickets cost $848 in addition to the required $1000 donation. This totals $1848 for 2 seats or $924 per seat. I have serious doubts about renewing these tickets if Dooley remains coach. If keeping Dooley causes season ticket sales to fall by more than 5500 seats it will cost more to retain him than to make this payout.

If you're so adament about it, how about u just donate the money to pay for his buyout. I'll even buy your tickets off of you

on here one damn dime. That money comes from donors and the VASF and we got the money to rid ourselves of this excuse making clown. Quit talking about we can't afford it when you have no clue what you are saying.

I smell a liberal.
