Dooley

Bill Battle was an assistant under Bear Bryant before UT hired him. No way he was going to fail.

BB was a good coach [1973 Fake Punt vs UG notwithstanding]. Couldn't recruit was his problem and it started showing up in his third year.

If Battle was such a good coach, then tell me who swooped in to hire him after UT ran him out of town.

He's talking about the point you made where we can blame Kiffin if Dooley goes 3-9 this year.

I'm pretty sure Kiffin won 7 games. Thus, if Dooley is so much better than him, he should at least be able to match that production.

Tell me this, would 7 wins this year be a good accomplishment for Kiffin if he was still here? You know, because of the depth issues. Let me go ahead and answer that for you, yes it would have been. This year has been doomed since about 4 years ago

I've never disagreed with that.

Ok, he won 7 games. He left the program is shambles so i agree with you that Dooley can blame this year on Kiffin. The talent between the '10 Vols and the '11 Vols is not even close.

And I've never said Dooley is better than Kiffin. he hasn't coached a game. I don't presume to know the future like you do.

I do know he is doing a damn good job with the program right now.

Give it up ***hole. Your tirade on everything Dooley is beyond ridiculous now.

Your posts have been the f****** same since the day he was hired.

Your BS does nothing but incite negativity and 10 page arguments that derail the original OP. And yes, I realize that, with this post, I'm doing just that but I'm sick and f****** tired of opening up every thread with your bs in it.

Give. It. Up.

Like I said...he couldn't recruit worth a flip. If you can't do both [coach and recruit] you won't get hired. He did all right in '70 [11-1], "71 [10-2] and '72 [10-2] with Dickey's players but ran the program into the ground on the recruiting side that started showing up in 1973.

His overall W-L percentage was favorable 0.723 compared to Dickey's 0.738. Unfortunately, that percentage was skewed by his first 3 years with Dickey's recruits.

Plus, he started a licensing company [Bear Bryant was his first client followed by the UA] and has laughed all the way to the bank ever since.

I completely forgot about Dooley's 7 year stint as Saban's errand boy. That changes things. Oh wait, it doesn't.

Have you learned nothing from all of this? Resumes don't matter. It only matters what Nick Saban says about him. Plus, when has Nick Saban ever lied before?

I would take Nick Saban's judgement concerning football over your's or anyone else's on this message board any day of the week.
