Dooley by most reports had the opportunity to follow Saban to Bama presumably as a coordinator. He chose to take over a struggling mid-major instead. By almost all accounts, he was turning that program around when UT came calling. It was a great early opportunity for him... or one that could send him back to begging someone for a position coach job. He considered the career risks and took the job when more "prominent" coaches said no.
FWIW, he was an assistant on one of LSU's NC teams, coached with the Dolphins, and was a GA at UGA. At the time he took the HC job, most would consider those more "prominent" programs than UT.
Every time you do one of these hit and run deals you show ignorance of the topic you post on... enough ignorance to give credence to the idea that you are nothing more than a troll fan of another school.
It doesn't take "courage" to leave La Tech for Tennessee. It takes a functioning brain.
