I'll tell you what... I was a lurker on this site for years before I "officially" joined. I was an everyday visitor to VN, lifelong Vol fan who finally joined the site. I tend to read a lot but rarely post, and to be honest... I've stopped coming on the site much lately because of "fans" like you. I could handle the daily Dooley bashing for a couple of weeks, but now it's just pathetic.

If you know ANYTHING about big time college football, you know that Coach Dooley is going to get 3 years to get our program turned around. Why not give the guy a chance? The venom spewed at a guy who has yet to coach a single game in Neyland is just silly... and makes you come across as one of the biggest tools around.

I get the feeling the last staff we had worked their asses off...moreso than the current one. Granted, we don't get a lot of feedback from Dooley's crew, but remember those stories where Kiffin would sleep on his couch because he was working 18 hour days or something? I want my coach doing this. I want my coach sleeping in his damn office.

Need some cheese!!!

We have minor issues here that are simple mistakes and we've got guys on the forums that need people to hold their hands when it happens.

Grow up and realize that mistakes happen to everyone. The Internet is great for alot of things but instant gossip and over reacting posts are not its great attributes.

Exactly! That seems to be the common theme with this staff. "That we have not even contacted". Why haven't we? This staff is already behind in establishing relationships with these kids. If they are legit players and they are showing us interest, there is no reason why we should not have at least contacted them.

Give the guy a break. If anyone is to blame it is the RC and his assistants, they should know every potential recruit comming on campus and give DD a heads up.

The kid is in the 2012 class so he'd be a Sophomore. Also, it isn't uncommon that a DE could look like a big WR (6'1-3 200-220 lbs.)... especially at this kid's age. Willie Bohannon was around that when he was recruited, I think.

It would probably be wise to let the staff do their jobs, have a season under their belt, and go through NSD before making any judgements. This season's schedule is super tough, and we don't have enough depth at many areas. Top 2 quarterbacks are un-tested at the D-1 level except for Simms' mop up duty at UL. None of this is Dooley's fault. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see more than 6 wins this year. The guy needs 3 years. If he's moving up, great. If he's moving down, buy him out, and start over again. All the finger pointing especially when we haven't played one snap, makes me sick.

Dooley doesn't deserve ridicule OR PRAISE yet imo. People saying he is the best thing since sliced bread are just as crazy as the people saying he's failing.

EVERYBODY makes mistakes in recruting. Many of Urban Meyer's are well-documented. Richt has had many recent gaffes. Spurrier has been banned from certain HS's. Get over it!

I don't think anyone is saying he's the best coach, but some people are willing to let him prove it on the field first, myself included.

Lane and Ed O are such great recruiters that they coach 7-6 teams.

Oklahoma is great at recruiting as well. So great at it in fact that they didn't bother to prepare for Boise State. A team that has had recruiting classes rank between 70-100 over the course of the past five years.

Look... I agree talent is a huge key to winning but as long as Dooley is in the top 25, it's more than enough talent to compete for a championship with good coaching. Fulmer's #3 ranked class didn't do anything.

Let the coaching staff do the evaluating and figure out where best to deploy their attention.
