You can't blame the fan base, Schiano not an SEC caliber coach. If he was he's already have a head coaching job. Currie should have know he is not what fans are expecting. If You're going to hire a Mid-Major coach you might as well have just kept Jones and be happy to be competing just to make it to a bowl game.

If I'm on the "bad side" for causing a ruckus about not wanting a CHILD MOLESTATION ENABLER roaming our campus and sideline then I'm perfectly fine with that. I'll take standing up for what's right over being a sheep any day.

Why not? Better re-define "home run" hire. Ethics and how you treat people are important. Ditto SEC experience. This conference is brutal. Ask Bilemma, Sumlin, Jones, Freeze, McElwain and those who came before them.

Too bad likes aren't working tonight (Probably a good idea on Freak's part, though). You'd have a bunch of 'em if that was an option. Currie can't be trusted...not now and not ever... to bring in a hire that'll get 'er done at UT. Had he been so bull-headed about staying mum, then would've brought in a bona fide top tier HC, then he could keep that bitter smirk on his face. Now? He's gotta' go and I'm leaning toward the belief that he'll be emptying his office within a week. Apparently, John Currie doesn't understand fan bases that live for their football team. Nice post, gemlek.

You can't have a Homerun when everything about your AD screams Bartolo Colon at the plate.

I’d like to disagree with this, but sadly you’re probably right. UT somehow is seemingly the only job in the country (like any job, in any profession) that can’t hire top talent by paying top dollar. They are going to pay $240 million dollars for stadium renovations, however they can’t manage to hire a good coach, when the average coaching salary is roughly $5 million. UT’s administrators are horribly inept.

Amen! or Les Miles or Dave Cutcliff or (I can only wish) Bob Stoops...or how's 'bout Bobby Petrino or (Now that we've softened up on options) Lane Kiffin? What's Mike Leach doing...or Venables or the Stoops brother who's DC at Oklahoma? Is there documentation stating that Currie's spoken with anyone else...other than Greg Schiano. Heck. Good ones are still out there...who aren't carrying such an ugly stigma...guilty (but he's not looking so squeeky clean) or just looking complicit. If we can't get Blackburn, let's bring in Phil. No Schiano and no Currie. UT's admin. staff need to take their own fan base much more seriously.

Will know more in a few days but I can't see hiring a new coach now. No way we should get into another 3 year $15M or something contract +new staff and buy outs. Crazy. We may have to even fix the AD situation. I'd welcome an interim AD and coach and let things settle.

I won't see it but I'd use the time to overhaul the hiring/staffing process totally. Such as essentially approaching the HC, OC and D.C. Positions separately. Redefine what a HC is/does. Sick and tired of coaches bringing in their cronies, or them hiring the likes of sunseri, Debord, or Larry Scott. We and others have seen/done this......it doesn't work out that often even when it looked promising. Again, I won't see it tho

No. The skybox crowd needs to recognize that our fanbase is passionate and pays attention. We will no longer accept a crap sandwich while being told it's filet mignon.
