Our fan based destroyed that dream. Who would want to take the job knowing that if you weren't the first hire, they aren't going to care at all. That you landed the job knowing that it wasn't based off your football IQ or record. It was based off the fact you weren't part of a sexual scandal.
Not saying Schiano should've been hired, I'm only expressing that the way we acted was way over the top

We will take our chances. We may end up with a dud but at least we don’t have to worry about our tight ends.

Currie should be fired for trying to hire him. The new coach will know he has a fanbase that cares and will support morals.

We need AD Blackburn to replace the soon to be gone inept AD we have now. Can't let him be involved in any new search.

Once he is gone a home run hire will happen.

I never expected a BIG hire. I always thought that we would pay bUTch's buyout and then hire someone just like him or like Dooley.
Tennessee is a top program. No doubt! However; others in America aren't privy to our little secret. So, it is doubtful that a homerun coach will come here.
However; once we are back at full strength, coaches will seriously consider us.... We are literally a SLEEPING GIANT.....

Schiano was no homerun hire. Apparently we were never getting one.

The AD, with their terrible choice, ruined any chance of a great coach coming here.

No! Our fanbase saved our program from 5+ years with a mediocre hire. We snatched a bad hire away from the AD. Plenty of really “good” coaches out there.

Might need to be an up and comer now OR a Tennessee guy like Tee, Fulmer, Cutcliffe, Cooter.

We tried to hire Schiano. Unless you think he's a homerun hire, we didn't destroy anything. Seems we were always going to get a garbage coach. Might as well get one without baggage.

Would rather look like s**t in the media tonight than be married to this douche for the next 4-5 yrs. Go read the NFL network report of how bitterly the players hated him....or the scouts hated going to Rutgers to scout players prior to the draft; or local media who had to deal with him; pretty much everyone who dealt w him had the same reaction.....none of it good; and no ties to UT, the SEC, the south (our recruiting base). This was a mistake from go. Unfortunately, the same moron who targeted this guy will be the same moron who will make selection #2....however not sure he can f it up any worse; can’t think of a worse candidate

I doubt we will get a heads up next time. The search will now be top secret until officially announced. They will not allow their plans to be foiled again!

Well, he wasn't. So, how does this impact UT hiring a 'homerun' when Currie just went the worst possible path you could? Seriously, help me understand.

We were never getting one to begin with!!...Did you honestly believe this group was going to go out and get us a homerun hire?!?...Seriously?!?....I knew in my heart they would do something like this because that is how they roll...none of the other coaches were even considered..Just a bunch of lies...They could care less who is running UT football as long as me and you cough up the money to see it play on Saturdays...Period...They do not give a damn about the fanbase at all.

Schiano wasn't a home run hire either! Just above .500 record as a head coach. Terrible record at Tampa Bay. How much evidence do you need to say someone is a bad coach? The only reason that he wasn't fired in the first place and was allowed to stay at Rutgers was that it was Rutgers. He would never have won in the SEC. Period! He would have set the program even further behind and the negative recruiting that other coaches in this conference would do against him would put the program back at Dooley level recruiting where we were competing for recruits from D2 schools.
