Donnie Tyndall Thread

Really sold on this guy's resume. Although I can't pretend that I am that familiar with his style of player.

Although, I'll probably get flamed for this, but I'll say it: I think some (keyword: some) of the resistance toward him has more to do with aesthetics than resume. Presentation matters in sales and communication and some people may be turned off by a husky guy with a buzz cut.

SMU beat writer, for those keeping up

I just don't understand not going after Rick Byrd this late in the game. The search was obviously pig Howard fumbled out of the back of the end zone. Why not try and savage what is left?

So your litmus test for competence is name recognition and popularity...

Something tells me the names "Bruce Pearl" and "Dave Serrano" were not instantly recognizable to you when mentioned in relation to their coaching searches.

Call me crazy, but I don't want a celebrity, I want a coach.

Dave Serrano was a very recognizable name for those that follow college baseball...the phrases, "no brainer", "home run hire" and my own favorite "I can't believe he wants to come here", come to mind.

You might be right on Bruce, though, certainly, Ernie Grunfeld knew who he was.

Well all the local people are saying we haven't even talked to Tyndall today, not a good sign when White shot us down this AM officially.

I posted this in another thread. I am not sure Cheek would sign off on a Tyndall hire due to the major recruiting violations he was involved in at Morehead State.
