Donnie Tyndall Thread

Don't have to worry about Tyndall leaving for his alma mater. He played at Morehead State as a part-time starting guard and then coached there.

As far as the mud on him? It was basically a slap on the wrist. Nothing more really. I liked CCM's integrity and how he played it all straight. However, I don't think Tyndall's issue is uncommon. Doesn't make it right, but it's nothing shocking

If Tyndall's program somehow benefited from cheating, then it's cool. It's the guys that don't see any positive results from their cheating that you have to be leery of.

If hired, then both our newest coaches will have no neck. Shame that Barry Trotz was let go by the Preds---the Tennessee Sports No-Neck Coaching Club would have been quite legit with him, Butch, and this guy.

Everybody laugh politely...and back away slowly :ermm:

Tyndall is originally from Michigan just like Butch looks like no one up there has a neck.:)

Tyndall is the last realistic candidate I see that people won't completely crucify Hart over. He can sell to the fans through back channels that NCAA issues are what led to trying white over Tyndall first, other than that they're very similar. The tough part for Hart is I now imagine he's going to have to pay about the same for Tyndall as he would've for White, with Tyndall knowing white has declined.

I could see Hart not hanging up on the buyout with Tyndall like he did with White since Tyndall is a more proven commodity. White is more of a boom or bust guy IMO.

exactly...2 very different situations and circumstances...

Very possible, and maybe why Hart tried White first, cheaper buyout? Then again, did you piss of Tyndall to where his price now goes up?

Obviously, I'll be sorry if we end up with a worse hire than White, but I'm glad he's not coming. I don't want another guy who has only been a head coach for 3 years. Too small of a sample size no matter how well he's done.
