Don’t worry…. We’re coming

I have zero confidence in any coach our AD brings in based on the last 4 hires. Sorry. But no choice other than hang in for years.

Did Danny White make any of those hires? Was Randy Boyd and Donde Plowman running the university during that time??

I understand. No play is a guarantee of course
Seemed to me Hooker had a big gainer ahead of him had he kept it. I think that is a part of my stance on the play. If we can improve the execution and the play works for us, I'll support it even though it isn't my preference.

Unfortunately, penalties are a characteristic of CJH coached teams. At UCF, they aveaged about 8 penalties a game for 70 yards. It's a problem. and concern. He cannot do that in SEC, with the other issues we are seeing in the first two games and have any chance of productivity.
Exactly what I was referring to in my post earlier. I seen the same negative trends appearing today that I’ve seen in countless UCF games he coached. He didn’t recruit well either at UCF but I’m willing to let that slide since it’s UCF we have better resources

Well this also blends into something I complained about last week, he should’ve gotten more PT against BG just for the reps of in game action, Bailey too

Did he rotate QBs at UCF? or does he ride till he dies with one?

He rode Dillon Gabriel the whole season last year, he’s better than any QB we’ve got on the roster for sure so it was easy for him tbh. He’s gonna have to develop our 3.
Gabriel more like Milton/Hooker or what we've seen from Bailey in the past?

He’s a gun slinger he had a game last season where he threw for 600 yards had like 32 TDs maybe 5 ints. He doesn’t look as sharp this season without JH I’ll say
i thought Bailey had the inside track. i am surprised he's third.

I didn't trust Pruitt with JG. Do you think CJH is a good judge of QB talent and can distinguish between the practice stud from the gamer?

Our gunslinger is having problems with zeroing his gun in. Or just maybe some eyesight limitations.
I'll admit, I've never seen any qb in a vol uniform who can throw it as deeply and effortlessly as Milton. He's just missing other skill sets which as important as a cannon for an arm.

I’m sure he has had several Qb gurus working on his form and putting touch on the balls when needed. It’s just not working for him. Maybe his hand/eye coordination will always be lacking.

I’m with ya OP ! Who‘s riding with us ?….The last 15+ plus years show that we’ll get a flat tire and the transmission will fall out the arse end as soon as we think we’re making progress but take heart ye Vols of good cheer brighter days are ahead . I sayeth to you that lo just as the ancient bard exhorted us those many years ago that we gotta have faith surely tomorrow there will rise a tequila sunrise .

In all seriousness I’m bummed about today because that’s a game we will all look back as winnable and although the schedule is by no means the toughest that we’ve seen in recent years it nevertheless leaves very little room for margin of error . I will admit that I have been burned by buying the various false starts of Dooley - Pruitt but I stil think that 6 wins and a bowl are possible . To accomplish this they will obviously need to clean up the dumb **** (penalties ) , get QB HH to continue to develop & continue to get better each week on D. After watching SCAR -VS- ECU, UK —vs- Mizzou & the Vols today I would say that the gap is not so wide that we as fans shouldn't be hopeful that all of those games are winnable. Vandy got beatdown by ETSU & even though they are giving CSU a good fight on the road they are both neck and neck in the bottom 120-130 rankings so hopefully that is a W we can count on along with TTU & USA to get The Vols to the 6 or 7 win mark .

Come on. You can't be dense enough to think Plowman is doing the hiring.

She might not be the one bringing up candidates but after the absolute disaster that Fulmer/Pruitt were she and Boyd had a such more significant role in the AD hire being here than previous Presidents. And even if she didn’t, Danny White’s resume is light years ahead of other previous candidates. He’s a top 10-15 AD in the country.

At some point he either can develop those skills or he can't. Evidence so far strongly indicates he can't.

...but boy oh boy, if he can....
