Dogs

Thanks TEX, Jackleg, and Poochie. A week ago I said I would never put her down but don't want to go into details but it was the right decision to make. I can't get the image out of my head of her euthanization so haven't been able to sleep. Trying to remember the good times and it was her time prolly should of done it sooner this week. She is in a better place now.

Man, your posts made me tear up. I'm so sorry man. I don't know what to say

Sorry guys... It's better not to let them suffer. My day for that will come too soon.

Thanks SDV, Sparty and Sto...I thought about it for a long time but it was the best for her. If I was in the same condition I wish someone would give me a peaceful death or even a gun at that age if I could ever live that long. She will be missed as she was my first baby girl.:hi:

You all right, man? Must have been tough, but you made you made the right decision, as I'm sure you already know.

I am a lot better today. The last few days were rough and finally took her in around 5pm yesterday. Tore me up though eyes watering as the last air escaped her lungs. Last night stayed up all night and couldn't help but keep relaying images of my last seconds with her over and over. Trying to remember the good times we had now and that she is better off not suffering.
Thanks though,brah :hi:

Good lord, my heart is with you, brah. Hate to sound so cheesy, but we all love you, man. She's with God now.

Hope Mousse keeps fighting the good fight, Sparty. Enjoy every moment.

Thanks man. He's going back down a little. I hate to say it, but I wish he would just fall asleep. The roller coaster is hard for him and us. He was delirious again last night and its hard to watch.

Do you guys think it's best to jump right back on the wagon and get another dog or will you wait awhile? I will have to distract myself with a new puppy of the same breed

My little guy is 16 and when he goes, I think I will wait for a while. I want to remember him and not try to replace him right away. I guess everyone is different

Had to put her down yesterday. It killed me inside seeing her suffer but around thursday took a turn for the worse. Couldn't stand, walk, or control her bowels. Hardest thing I have ever done but after hearing several Vets opinions. Set up all friday night and yesterday being with her she was suffering.
RIP Rocket girl.
Loved-Hiking, Fetching anything(frisbee, stick, leaf, remote control she would throw them at my feet.)Loved the snow, cold weather, and her own master.
Hated-Summer time(hot), Fourth of July, and thunderstorms. plus other female dogs. Queen B!tch.
5/12/12 RIP girl. :cray: Lived a great life and will be missed by her family and friends.

I am so sorry man. If you were here I would hug you!

We will be jumping back in quickly when it happens. Plus, I worry about our female lab who is 6. She's been really hanging around him a lot. Seems as if she is comforting him when he doesn't do well. She'll hear him fall or whine and go lay next to him. We'll need a puppy to keep her going and for the kids.

I won't be as tight with a dog ever again, so I'll let the wife and kids handle it.

That's tough 3. I really hate it for you.:hi:

"They" say, "it is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved". I say, that's a load of shat when it comes to women. But in the case of Behr, I would agree.

Thanks Thrasher, Nerd, and Behr. Getting by one day at a time but she is always in my thoughts. I got two other dogs but lil inside dachshunds last night after dinner divvying up table scraps was about to feed her out of habit. Life goes on and death is a part of it. Still sucks.

Are meds covered under dog health insurance? If so, would be well worth it at some points. Meds running us @ $200/month right now.
