Dogs

As long as he doesn't start wanting pink pumps or a European shoulder bag he should be ok shortly.

My dog gave me a terrible scare today. He went outside and had real runny #2 and starting having a seizure. He fell forward on he nose and just stayed there. I thought he had a heart attack. I ran over to him and he was vomiting clear frothy stuff. I carried him over to the shade and then brought him into his bed and turned a fan on him as he was panting very fast. Watched him for a while deciding whether to go to the ER or not. He stopped panting and began breathing normal again. Now 2 hours later, he is acting back to normal

Yeah, he is 16. He has had seizures his whole life. Gets about 4 per year. When he was younger the vet said that they weren't life threatening, but would be just a bit scary. He seems to have bounced back fine and is now running around the living room.

You probably helped calm him a little by being there and not freaking out.

Doing my Sunday coffee run where I talk to God and my dad for a few. Decided to chat with Mousse as well. We had families over yesterday and he was the topic of about 10 different stories. Some, I didn't know about.

Evidently, about 5 years ago, we had friends house sit. They hung out back with others and noticed mousse had disappeared. Somebody had left the fridge open and he was lapping up a 6 pk of tecates he grabbed and punctured. They didn't want to tell me he got hammered and they both said he ran around jumping in the pool and messing with everybody

Oreo has been bad.
I have no idea what she did but I'm confident she did something wrong.

And here we go again.

Two strays trying to survive. Nothing I can do to help them (for obvious reasons, if you know anything about me), and I will not call Coffee County animal shelter and have them take a bullet to the head, so I guess our best option right now is to let them fend for themselves best they can. We did put a bit of food out down by the road so they could get some nutrition, but we can't make a habit of that or they will stay in the area permanently.

If anyone in the Coffee county area has the inclination and wherewithal to rescue and help them, contact me and I'll let you know where to find them. Or if you know someone that can and will...

I was just in Coffee county for work! Terrible place! :) j/k

Seriously, though, the brown one looks like it's got mange or some similar condition. Unfortunately, he will probably never find a good home.

The black one looks cute, but doesn't exactly look nice in those pics. Hopefully he's just playing. Are they both unneutered? I can *ahem* see that the brown one is not neutered...

hmmm... Beechgrove is not far from Murfressboro, heart!

Busy day at work, just got my first chance to check back here.

We haven't gotten close enough to tell the sex or status of the white/black dog.... he/she seems to be people shy, and is a car chaser. This rescue would probably require a professional that knows what he's doing, because if you try to grab one, the other is gonna run.

It just tears me up, and it seems we go through this about two or three times a year. But I just can't rescue every stray dog in coffee county.

Sure you can. Every dog dumper in the coffee county area is counting on you.

Apparently...

Maybe instead of sending money to the ASPCA so they can try to stop people from fishing and farmers from raising poultry, folks should start sending money to me so that I can build a giant dog shelter on my property. :eek:k:

Then there would be the matter of my salary... :)

Why should people stop fishing and farming?

Exactly!

Especially in the land of the free and the brave.

My point is, if you see the ASPCA commercials on TV, they show you all of these pitiful dogs and cats that need rescuing, because they know that plucks at peoples' heart strings. Admittedly I have not studied their books to know what percentage they spend actually rescuing dogs and cats, but I've seen news reports where they're involved with interfering with fishing and poultry and probably other meat producing industries.

But I suppose all of that is best for the Politics forum...
