I think it sends the message that we at UT care mainly about football, and that's ok with me.
So let me get this straight. The deciding factor in a recruit's decision on which college to attend is not the coach, the staff, the other players, the facilities, or the school's traditions. But rather the enthusiasm shown by the student body in a more or less meaningless basketball game in mid-January. Ok, that makes sense. I suppose.
You will notice, perhaps, that I prefaced the thread by asking if I was maybe reading too much into it. Thanks for your reply though.
Nearly 13 minutes into the first half of the ball game...probably the biggest recruiting weekend of the year...and our "student" section looks like it has MAYBE 50 people in it. Awful. (Can't post the pic for some reason but its about 1/3 full.)

I am a long time football fan of The University of Tennessee and this is actually the first year that I've bought basketball tickets.....just wishful thinking on my part that out of a school with 25,000 students that at least 1 percent of them would show up.
The students sit in more sections than just the one behind the goal! At least four or five other sections in the lower level and upper-level are mostly students
Why would we go ? Lol I've been to every home game up until now, but no more!
Was going back and forth between the UT game and the Syracuse -v- Louisville game. Will say the KFC-Yum crowd was more amp than the TBA attendees. Not just the student section but the entire crowd at TBA was a few decibels lower than the game up in Louisville.
