Does someone owe Kiffin an apology???

I think we all realize that if Kiffin wants to say something about someone, he will say it for all to hear... It is good to see some confess to making up stuff during the recruiting period.

Didn't you get the memo? Kiffin is the NCAA anti-christ. You don't apologize to the anti-christ.

wow, what a ridiculous statement.

Whats so ridiculous about it? He created that perception of himself with all of the talking that he has done.

I read the article and didn't think twice about it not being true. I'm glad its not, but it didn't surprise me a bit at the time and it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. It wouldn't be uncharacteristic of Kiffin to make those kind of comments.

No apology needed. Unlike certain other head coaches to remain unnamed I'm sure CLK doesn't feel he has to let other people fight his battles and demand public apologies.

Kiffin's reputation has nothing to do with their mistake. either they screwed up or they didnt.

This is exactly the way that Chuck and Chernoff came out with the " we have it from someone very close to the program" crap about CEO getting canned by spring practice.

Someone sure does. Even if true all I get is that GA missed out on some aggresive recruiting thinking they were done deals. But since it didn't happen, what the heck?

the ridiculous portion would be that the entire ordeal was fabricated.

“We spoke to Lane Kiffin on the phone a couple of weeks ago and he made the point to say that he was going to be really aggressive in Georgia in recruiting because he thinks that maybe Georgia went to sleep on some of these kids. Do you feel like that’s the case and are you kind of ready for that battle with Lane?”

And then:
Flatford called Richt right after that teleconference to apologize.

“Kiffin has never talked to me, never talked to me,” Flatford told Weiszer yesterday.

“I hope to have him on our show at some point. At that time, I will ask Lane about recruiting in Georgia.”

Indefensible trash. Perception has nothing to do with it.

Well no sh_t. The guy was saying that the assertion "that if Kiffin had not done so much talking and so much antagonizing, none of this would have been believable", was ridiculous. Well no its not, not really. It wouldn't have surprised me one bit if he had made the comments.

Honestly would it have surprised you?

But yes it is ridiculous that it was fabricated.

what is believable or not should be established by facts alone. i understand your point FLSTF. i just think it reflects some measure of blame on Kiffin. that is what i find ridiculous.

it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Orgeron clown stomped a mudhole in Richt either, but he didn't, thus it is absolutely garbage if someone tries to pass it off as having happened.

I said I agreed with you about it being fabricated. But you didn't answer my question. Would it have surprised you if he had done it?

yes, it would surprise me if he had made a comment like that flippantly to a UGA beat writer. If he happened to be looking for a way to tighten up UGA's in state recruiting, it might have made some sense, but that seems a bit counterproductive to CLK's cause, no?

Honestly, I don't know. I would think it would be, but I thought the comment he made about Meyer would have been counter productive also. I think he's unpredictable, but It wouldn't surprise me if he had.

The comment about Meyer was rah rah bull crap, but the comment about recruiting would have been tantamount to giving away trade secrets.

I think Kiffin owes me an apology. I really thought he said that about Jawja and it made me happy, but now I'm sad b/c it was made up.
