Does Poole Get A Shot Next Year?

Man every time Poole got tackled he would get up yelling at the tacklers or flexing like he was all that and a Jolly Rancher. That kinda stuff drives me crazy. Looks awful. I prefer a MH, BB, or DO who would get tackled, get up, and walk back to the huddle. I think Classy CDD would too.

I don't remember any of that. If he did, it wouldn't bother me, I like a guy who plays with passion, a chip on his shoulder.

Yeah, Brown was clearly Kiffin's #1, since Hardesty got 80% of the meaningful carries last year...

SGM, just so you know, everytime i see your avatar in any thread, it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. im a very happy man because of it.

Depends if Dooley's likes running back by committee or a feature back.

Is Oku still on the team?

Shouting at the coaches on the sidelines doesn't help either. I'm sure the "play Poole" minority will get cranked up this year. Freaking laughable.

He would of gotten alot more carries, but Brown was Kiffins major recruiting tool "a la" freshman will play now stuff.

Dooley appears to be more committee style, but still featuring 1. Last year the feature had 200 carries, but the team had 500 carries all season

I thought I read rumors of him wanting to leave. Probably just rumors but didn't know if it was overshadowed by everything else.

Anyways, I hope not. I think the best 2-3 backs out of Brown, Oku, Poole, Williams will be a solid combo. I just hope they follow in Hardesty's footsteps and protect the rock.

I think we are going to see alot more shotgun. with chaney being able to finally run the offense HIS way i think we will be alot more productive. i think we will see the RB do alot more slot receiving so i think that will benifit BB. but i do this poole needs to get some reps.

i wish we had redshirted OKU...cuz i think he has a GREAT future. i think if brown doesint stay healthy oku and poole will be plunty good enough to step in.

Poole runs with purpose. He has a chip on his shoulder and you can see it when he gets the ball. Bryce needs to show something more or Poole should get the nod.

I agree he ran like he had a chip on his shoulder. At the end of the WKU game he was fighting for those yards as hard as Hardesty, but that was WKU. I did however see something that makes me think BB can beat him out for the #1 slot unless Williams somehow comes back with a vengeance. He looked phenomenal last spring.

I hope your wrong about us playing more out of the shotgun.

Poole and Brown will be used for 15 to 20 carries a piece next year. Dooley will run the ball like Saban runs the ball with Alabama.

It's going to be a great battle in the spring. We have tons of talent at runningback and although I'm sure Jim Chaney has a good idea of who is going to be where, Dooley will have plenty of time to evaluate before the opener.

I think Poole will be a weapon, for sure.
Throw to him out of the backfield.
Throw to him in the slot.

We've got Brown and Oku still, and I think they'll have around the same number of carries.
I haven't seen Oku run the ball since that first game against WKU. And Bryce (obviously) needs to toughen up to be a premier SEC back.
IMO, we'll see a good balance between the three of them.

Poole did alright, but Brown is better. You just can't argue that.

I think that could definately be debated and has been I'm sure. I don't know how they did as far as YPC but Poole didn't have many opportunities and seem to stand out to me everytime he touched the ball.

Brown on the other hand didn't seem to live up to the lofty exepectations. Whether the hip was a huge factor I don't know but I remember seeing several runs where an elite back would have sprung it for +20yds, Brown ended up with 7.

Time will tell but to say Brown is hands down better just because Kiffin played him more may not be the case. I hope they run for a K each.

Brown Rushing: 101 Att 4.6 YPA Receiving 10 Catches 13.7 YPC
Poole Rushing: 10 Att 8.5 YPA Receiving 1 Catch 9 YPC

Based on what I've seen and stats I would say Poole should be doing the hard interior running, ala Hardesty, and Brown should be given the ball in space on screens, pitches, etc.

Poole's stats were inflated because they came mostly against WKU's backups.
