turds every year and the tougher OOC game negatively affect the perception of the Tennesse job?

Tradition is important and we've had some great games over the years, but I could see that it may have some impact. It's kind of a double edge sword. What do y'all think

Not at all. Think of how our perception would be if we abandoned our game with Alabama. A rivalry that started in 1901. It doesnt negatively affect our perception. I think it enhances it.

Don’t know if it does but it shouldn’t.

And who says we play a “tougher OOC game”? We got 5-5 GaTech this year. Florida played Michigan, South Carolina gets Clemson, Georgia played Notre Dame and Kentucky gets Louisville. Some years we do, some we don’t.

The right coach won’t let that deter him in any way from taking this job imho.

I think it depends what kind of gonads a coach has.

I think to a coach like Kiffin who thinks highly of himself and wants every opportunity to prove himself, it would be a great sell.

"Hey, every year, you get the opportunity to play the greatest coach of all time, and try to disrupt the greatest dynasty of college football history."

I mean....if that doesn't intrigue you....then are you even a competitor?

Because if I want to be the best.....then I want to play the best.

I don't want to go 12-0 at a school that doesn't play anyone.

I want to go 12-0 at a school in the best conference, and I want to play #1 Bama every year, and I want to play Georgia every year, and I want to play Florida every year, and I want the toughest OOC schedule you can give me.

I mean, heck, look at Saban. Their first game this year was FSU. Who yeah, sucks this year. But....that was a big gonad game. And Alabama has played Oklahoma and USC and whoever else they can get. They don't shy away from big games. Because when you want to be the best, you want every chance to prove it.

So, no, I think as long as Bama is a power, I would HOPE it would be a selling point. That every year you have a crack at one of the best teams in the country, and you get to try to out-coach the greatest who has ever done it.

You're right. We've played Cal, Oregon, and Oklahoma, all top ten ranked teams those years. Somehow managed to lose to UCLA twice.

I would think so too, even more reason we absolutely have to land a big time head coach. And I hope that happens.

YES YES YES finally someone said what I’ve been preaching for three years. It’s stupid to play them every year because we would play them anyway in the SEC Championship. It puts us at a disadvantage in the East. There will be some in here that will say it’s a cowards way out we need to play as well as them to me that’s just playing dumb less play smart. Why put yourself in a disadvantage look in Georgia this year Auburn could beat Bama and they would have to play Auburn twice it’s just stupid. We need to rotate all the games in the other division not just for us for everyone in the division .

Almost forgot, wanted to add... words simply can't express how deeply I detest that gawd awful crimson team.

Maybe they will lose out the rest of the season.

And if Georgia loses to Auburn twice, then Georgia surely does not need to be in any championship.

You want to be the best, you play the best. You leave no doubt. If that means you play Bama once in season, twice in the SECCG, and another time in the playoff, then so freaking be it.

I'd love to whoop their a$$ 3 times in a year if that's what it took.

Anyone. Anywhere. Anytime.

Absolutely correct!! If you play 12 cupcakes and end up 12-0, you will (1) will get no respect in the polls or by the playoff committee, (2) your team gets no experience playing high caliber opponents, and (3) most likely lose badly in any post season bowl game. That's a poor idea.

I will say, that as much as we despise Kiffin for leaving.....

Dude had confidence. And he backed it up. Took Bama to the wire, and beat the dog crap out of Georgia and South Carolina.

I'm nearly confident that IF we brought him back as coach, he'd circle Bama on the schedule, and we'd put up a solid fight each year.

I am one of the few who isn't ticked at Kiffin. I get it. But I also think he was an immature punk then. If he's grown up a little bit??? Dude can coach some offense.

I'd take him back. But I hope that we have several bigger names on the line that we don't even have to consider it.

Exactly why I think Scott Frost will make a move.

You work your tail off to win every game, and for what? To be on the outside looking in at the playoffs?

Bump that. Put that work into a school with resources in a P5 conference, and get yourself a Natty!

Any of their current fans alive when that happened? Hell, I can barely remember it.

Well, I can. And guess what they did to right the ship: broke out the checkbook and got the guy they wanted.

Currie: take note.

I’m all for ending the annual series with Bama flame away at me I don’t care. It doesn’t do us any good playing them and getting our heads kicked in every year and let’s be real we aren’t beating them as long as Nick is there which could be another 4 to 5 years. It’s a automatic loss every year get them off the schedule and put Ole Miss back on as a yearly opponent again.
