Does the domination of NCST, a good team with a very good qb and one of the best db's in the NCAA by several of the "experts" give Dooley the win that finally brings him respect of the Volnation ?

I think it was a great win. TN looks the part of being a good football team for the first time in several years.

I also think our coaching staff is a major upgrade over last years staff.

I feel good about the program again. I give credit to Coach Dooley. He has brought integrity back to TN. I hope he has major success and our coach for many years to come.

GBO .

He's going to have to win some games that matter in the SEC then they can praise him all they want. It's what you do against your rivals that matters.

The more he wins, the more respect he will gain and should gain...especially considering what he walked into when he took the job,IMO.

For me winning is much more important than saving face. Dooley should get a lot of credit for winning a game that was VERY important to his career at UT.

I think NC State's O was a great early test for the new defense. With four turnovers, the most definitive statement that I can make about the new look Vols is that we have found an SEC ready D coordinator. I say that without any hesitation whatsoever.

But you were objective in your views

I dont consider you one

And I agree on Sal. He had that D ready. Love that he wasnt afraid to pin back those ears and go after Glennon

This. I find it funny that NCSU is now a good team according to a lot of posters on here. The same posters who gave NCSU no credit before the game.

NCSU is a middle if the pack ACC team and UT handled them properly. Dooley will get some nice wins this year. His team played very hard Friday night. That's all you can ask.

One in a row does,t earn respect. It's a step in the right direction but not the finish line. Having said that, I respect the man. He took a hard job under hard circumstances.

I think all the coaching changes helped him.He didnt have a lot of time to assemble a staff.More than likely he got turned down alot to.Just like he said he has coaches that share his views on how to play now.

I respected CDD from day 1 simply because he did have the courage to put his career on the line and accept the 4 to 5 year total rebuilding job and having to do all that while playing in the SEC.

He had everything stacked against him from day 1 but he did his homework, buckled down and saved most of the laMe kiffscum recruiting class and added some good players to that class too.

He helped guide us through the NCAA problems and put things in place to try and avoid those problems in the future and still recruited pretty well for his 1st real recruiting class despite a bad season.

This past season stunk especially with the loss when the team just quit against kenSucky but CDD stepped up and went out and got even better coaches and was smart and brave enough to get CSS to switch us to the 3-4 D which takes at least 2 years to get really good at and he worked hard and brought in another good recruiting class that are now freshmen and give alot of us more hope for a good future team to keep adding to consistency.

More Wins will me even better recruiting classes and more 4* and 5* recruits will be taking Tennessee seriously again.

CDD still has more to do to get us back consistently in the SEC championship mix but he has done a good job so far considering how much was stacked against him.

This was only 1 Win against a pretty good ACC team but more respect will be earned when we Win against floriDUHHH and especially when we Win against UGa and are back ranked in the top 15 or higher.

A Win or even a really good showing against a National powerhouse like alaBubba will earn alot more respect and get more high school recruits attention that Tennessee is again back to competing against the best and we ARE still rebuilding so big recruits might see themselves as just what our Vols program needs to get over the top again.

We ARE getting there and anyone that can't see consistant progress is simply blind or a hater.

VFL...GBO!!!

It's not about how you start, but how you finish. If he wants respect, he better have us playing well into November. Still, probably Dooley's biggest win for his career, so good job.

It was a solid start, and a game Dooley needed to win, but he won't start earning respect until he beats our rivals.

it is a little too early to judge his coaching abilities.
This year and next and we will know what he is made of.
One game does not mean squat.

His level of respect will skyrocket if he can start the season 5-0 with huge wins over Fla and UGA. That's when we will see the pundits going ape sh:+ over him.
