Does Dooley now gain respect?

Well, I never didn't respect Dooley. I knew we were going to suck for a couple of years because he was having to put guys on the field before they were ready to compete in the SEC. You play freshmen and sophomores in the SEC, no matter how talented they are, you're fielding boys against men. Dooley had the guts to take this job (unlike a certain coach who's in Gainesville now) and take the criticism from people who didn't understand the realities of football, and I respect the hell out of that.

On Friday night, I saw athleticism out of a Tennessee team that I hadn't seen in five years, and I liked what I saw out of the defense. Sunseri had those guys ready to play, and they made a very good quarterback look very bad.

Hopefully, Dooley can keep up the momentum from this.

And I'm glad he's in Gainesville. I was really hoping, like a :fool: he would take the UT job when offered, but I'm so happy :dance2: now he turned us down. And I was at first a little skeptical when CDD was hired. But when he saved our recruiting class that first year & brought some class back to UT, I have supported him since. He will win big time now that he has some decent assistant coaches that are on the same page as he is. Remarkable job considering what he walked in on. GBO & CDD.

We are not BACK yet, but regardless of what anyone says, Friday August 31st, 2012 was the beginning of our climb back to the top. We hit rock bottom with the Ky loss and now we are on our way back. We didnt do what Ok St did to Savannah St, but we had that game in our control midway through the first quarter. After that point, we started doing a little experimenting with subs, etc. When we decided to move the ball, we did. Neal was trying to bounce outside instead of following the blocks, JH was rusty and dropped a few, the D forgot to look at the sideline for the play a few times. etc. Most of these were first game jitters. As far as the OP, Dooley had my respect the day he took a job that absolutely no one else would think of accepting. He is on his way to gaining the respect of the media and the rest of the SEC. I can't guarantee a Florida win, but I do think we get at least 8 or 9 wins this year which should give CDD some more time to keep up the rebuilding job that, IMHO, he is doing an excellent job with considering the circumstances and the fact that he is trying to do it the right way by fixing a lot of problems that had been building for years. Well said... :hi:

The game on the15th is huge and may alter Dooley's fate at UT after Kentucky last year. This program needs to beat Florida and this will truly energize the fan base. However average they looked against Bowling green last week though they will still have the edge :defensive front, running game and kicking game.

Respect after winning one game may mean something to fans, but to the folks that do the hiring/firing. Fulmer was(I say this tongue in cheek) ran off because he could only 10 games a year.

Fulmer was put out because of 2 things

Players stop playing for him

Recruiting

This should be obvious to you since he has been up for several jobs and not even gotten a smell...

CPF was good in his days...but when the recruiting slowed...its an indicator that players just wasnt wanting to play for him....

I always respected and supported DD; this game helps him maintain that respect....

If he wants to keep my respect long term it is time to beat UF and then other rivals...
